After that, it's between the NES and the PS1. Both radically changed how people thought of gaming.

The Wii does not appear to be revolutionary. It has not irreversibly changed the industry in a long-lasting way. Right now, motion controls seem to be a temporary blip on the radar. A Revolution would be optical media storage or internet connectivity.

Nintendo combined motion controls with Apple style marketing and look and got a hit.

Most game changing, probably the ps1. Going with cheap cds instead of expensive to produce cartridges made console gaming a lot more affordable, and also more profitable for 3rd parties.

Don't forget the Power Glove. Which was basically a PS Move for the NES 20 years in advance before the PS Move, and 15 years before WiiMote.

Tough question. All depends on how you define "revolutionary".

I would have said Wii, but now that the next-gen consoles are out, it's obvious how little it has had an impact on them. I'd probably have to say PS1, for laying down the blueprint for modern consoles and causing a huge explosion in the popularity of gaming.

Edit: I guess the NES is similar to the PS1 in what it did for 2D gaming and its popularity.
