(Wii) If motion controls would even exist?
XaviX Port, Wii sports console 2 years before the Wii. One of many motion controllers before the Wii.
Nintendo combined motion controls with Apple style marketing and look and got a hit.

Most game changing, probably the ps1. Going with cheap cds instead of expensive to produce cartridges made console gaming a lot more affordable, and also more profitable for 3rd parties.

Don't forget the Power Glove. Which was basically a PS Move for the NES 20 years in advance before the PS Move, and 15 years before WiiMote.

Yup I just mentioned a recent console fully built on motion control. The trick with the Wii wasn't so much motion control as it was accesibility and marketing. Just like the one button mouse to control your Apple OS, the wii mote simplified gaming, getting new people to try out games.
MS copied that strategy with their version of controller free motion gaming, Kinect was far from the first either. However since then the casuals discovered angry birds and candy crush. Even easier than messing around with a console.

i think the PS1 should be on the Poll... it made gaming more appealing to more mature audience (no wonder it was the first console to reach 100+ million units)

Where is the PS1? I'm not voting on this, PS1 is the only on par with the NES in this area, as NES revived console gaming and PS1 directed the market to what it is today.

Stupid DLC, stupid Graphic wars pushing technology over interactive narration to sell TV and disc formats, Studios closing due to impossible budgets, stupid Elitist hardcore race,... yeah... pretty sure the PS brand has done a lot of things for the industry.

But are you sure this thigs are good things?

PS1: the SNES add-on, with SNES controller and the SNES games Sony "robbed". There you are. There is your Sony revolution.

In your opinion, that is wrong.

PS1 made gaming more appealing to children who wanted to look mature. there you go.

N64. That isn't even up for debate. Modern gaming wouldn't be what it is without it. We'd still be using dpads for 3D movement and there'd be no FPS genre on consoles. Everything that came after is derivative of what it started and what it created. And unlike the Wii, its changes to gaming have become the standard in almost every single game made after it. Other consoles may have perfected it, no one's denying that, but the N64 started it. The N64 started modern gaming.

NES. If Nintendo and Sega never stepped in to clean up Atari and Coleco's mess, the home console gaming industry simply wouldn't exist. The NES was more popular than the Master System, so I say NES.

It's really not even debatable. Every other innovation is just building on the foundation Nintendo and Sega built.

-DLC is the product of the internet.  MS popularized that, I'd argue.  Though it was getting there anyway.  DLC is a great thing, it is just being abused though.

-Better graphics have been happening the whole time, I don't know what that point is about.

-Impossible budgets is their fault, not Sony's.  Indie games for example are showing that million dollar budgets aren't necessary.

-Elitist hardcore?

I don't understand why hate the PS1 so much.

- DLC is so good sometimes, it existed since the internet is here, and when used properly is very powerfull. I was talknig about Stupid DLC. I think sony has much blame for creating "fraudulent" download content.

- Better graphics? Yes please! But always the tools at the service of the art, not the opposite. The oppsite is cancer.

- If you say so... Imposible budgets is the product of pushinsg technology. Expect from studies more than they can offer. Forcing demand. In the other hand, I can live with low budget games. Ask Sony fans if the can or want...

- You look so suprised with the elitist hardcore race thing... How long have you enter VGChartz?

I don't hate PS1. It makes no sense to hate something that is in the past and will never return. I only put over the table facts.

Is Sony the one that hates the industry I love.

I was almost sure you would come to say your things, but quote me? hahaha nice.
PS1 shaped the market with the populatization of gaming to all publics, showed the world that optical discs were the way to go, and that 3rd party suport was appreciated and gamers would like it, when Nintendo was still too dumb to notice that cartdriges and almost total focus on 1st party was outdated as hell.
The consumers spoke, the PS1 was the very first console to surpass the 100M barrier, and beated the N64 at a 3:1 ratio, if fact, you can go SNES + N64 and PS1 still wins, what a nice add-on huh?
You can be mad, but you can't deny the facts, PS1 is the reason the gaming market is a big thing today, and the fact gaming turned to be not just for kids.

Now let's talk about your rants.
Maybe you can tell me how Sony or PS is the reason of DLC (in which is a good thing, but people turn even good things to shit and now DLC is a shit way to rob people).
Nintendo was the one responsible for the Graphics Wars, which the SNES and it acclamed graphical superiority to the Genesis.
Sony opened the market to a lot of tiny studios and gave them a change to show their work, PS1 was a utopia to the developers.
PS1 was not even close to be elitist, everyone had one, nor does the brand as a hole, as PS brand is the biggest seller of history in the consoles market.
PS1 controller is a big evolution to the SNES controller, with dual analogics and shaped to fit well human hands, tell me about the 3-hand needed N64 controller please.

PS1 have reasons to have dominated the market in that way you know, please open your eyes.
You have your reasons to like Nintendo, I like them too, but stop this ridiculous way of thinking that you have please, it will only be good for you.

hahaha no.

So boring reading your wrong opinion.

I'm sorry.
