PS1 or PS2 for me. If not for them I, and probably many others, would not be gaming today.

PS1 for me for the same reason

Same here.

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

The NES gave us the gamepad.

The reason why I wouldn't consider the NES to be a game changer is that it wasn't a changer, it was a starter. It got gaming on the move again after a near death of the industry. But that's just arguing semantics of words.

Now if the question was 'What has been the most important console ever?" that would really be a good debate

hahaha no.

So boring reading your wrong opinion.

I'm sorry.

Funny how you call PS fans "elitist hardcore" but then present such a bloated ego and elitist behaviour with a post like this.

Make a real rebuttal to his post or don't bother posting at all.

Tie between Wii/NES

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

i think the PS1 should be on the Poll... it made gaming more appealing to more mature audience (no wonder it was the first console to reach 100+ million units)

In your opinion, that is wrong.

PS1 made gaming more appealing to children who wanted to look mature. there you go.

1) yeah... because my 18 year old cousin who was playing PS1 at the time was a children and because my 15 year old friend (4 years older than me at the time) who wanted to change his N64 for my PS1 at the time was also a children.... he was tired of mario and games like Dino Crisis, Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill looked more appealing to him.

2) such hatred... (are you having a bad day?, im sorry for that...)

The Playstation 1. It shifted the market away from two mainstays. It also expanded the market and made gaming mainstream with such a hugely successful company getting into it. Before this it was a pretty niche market. Playstation exploded gaming and brought the highest selling console from 60m to 100m (an incredible milestone)

Dreamcast, it died so we can have modern gaming.

The Wii U is the Dreamcast, just compare the controllers.

Atari 2600, NES or PS1.

Each of these expanded the gaming market exponentially. They were milestones in video game history. So I'd call them revolutionary.

The Wii also expanded the market, but then lost it right away... so it was more like a failed coup d´etat than a revolution.
