We were children throughout all of the generations besides the current though.

GameCube had Ttyd. Hands down the GameCube.

SNES gets the edge from me. I got my SNES when I was like 3 years old, and I played the daylights out of it. Controllers got worn out from how much I played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Land, Jurassic Park, Knights of the Round, and a few others.

I'm sorry. Wind Waker did not do "it" better than OOT. lol

You have to understand. I was 21 when Gamecube launched and scoured the internet, posting on message boards much like these. NO ONE liked the damn console. It was the butt of every joke. I bought one at launch, and enjoyed it, but you couldn't even bring the thing up online without someone laughing you right off the page. The gaming world was dominated by PS2 and almost everyone was a PS2 fanboy with the occasional Xbox guy thrown in. Gamecube was a joke.

So, how is it that now, all of a sudden, it's a classic console with these amazing games? How can something be a joke when it was on the market and then, for no reason at all, be legendary two generations later?

There's only one explanation. The 6-12 year old demograph that made up the majority of Gamecube owners at the time, grew up, got online, started writing blogs and rewrote history. There's no other excuse because I WAS THERE. I KNOW what actually happened and what happened and what I'm seeing these days doesn't match up at all.

PS2 was the ultimate casual console though, with a lot more 6-12 year olds then Gamecube. However people feel the need to champion the underdog. Like PS3 last gen. Also the internet constantly made fun of the Wii wherever I went :P, but it still became the highest selling. And out of all the Nintendo consoles each generation Gamecube sold the least, more championing of the underdog.

Something similar's happening now, with the dudebros/hardcorez trying rewrite history as if the Wii never existed.

N64, the last Nintendo console I truly loved.

It was the console I mainly grew up with plus it has so many great games like mario sunshine, pikmin 1 and 2, luigis mansion, wind waker and twilight princess, kirby air ride, melee, sonic adventure 2 and shadow the hedgehog, mario kart, plus so many more but those are my favorites

Gamecube, hands down. Favorite console ever, Nintendo or otherwise, including portables.

17. Pokemon Colosseum & XD Gale of Darkness (the closest we've gotten to a console Pokemon RPG)
18. The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition & Ocarina of Time: Master Quest (SO MUCH ZELDA)
19. The best version of every Mario sports game
20. The best Mario Parties (oh yeah, I went there)
21. Kirby's Air Ride
22. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (still my favorite, even after Awakening, just for the characters)
23. Wario World
24. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
25. Super Monkey Ball 2

And that's just the games I got to play! There were several awesome ones I never got around to. Like Battalion Wars, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II Rogue Leader, Viewtiful Joe, Timesplitters 2, Wave Race: Blue Storm, F-Zero GX, and more! I clocked thousands of hours into this thing, and I still have thousands more I'd like to play. I'd probably end up spending a full year of my life on the thing before I'd get sick of it.
