It's the exact opposite in football though. Olympics is utterly unimportant and the Euros are the next best thing to the World Cup.
No player would voluntarily leave out playing the Euros.

Exactly. The Euros is a huge tournament. No team would ever think about not sending their best players to it. Olympic football is pretty much just for young players or almost retired players.

Nobody cares about football at the Olympic games now, it's for youngsters, but Euro is on par with the World Cup. Suggesting what Chris Hu said is absurd. The level of football at Euro is even higher than on the World Cup, since you only get 16 best teams from Europe, so every game counts, there are no automatic wins, which still happen in the WC. You can't lose focus for one moment, cause otherwise you're out. The main difference thus far was that the number of teams is smaller, thus we get fewer games, but with the current reform and adding extra teams, Euro is going to grow even more. Now you get 24 best European teams (which is good, cause thus far there were always great teams left out). I think it's just a matter of time before we start inviting extra top 8 teams from outside Europe and turn Euro into the best tournament in the world, without any crappy teams that nobody cares about. I mean, wouldn't you rather have Sweden and other solid European teams that can put up a fight instead of Cameroon, Honduras, etc.? Of course you would. UEFA can kick FIFA in the butt and kick it hard.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I was streaming the match yesterday cause I wasn't home and ITVs coverage was bad. And there were so many annoying adverts.

Oh apparantly the ref helped us by tripping Robben and giving Silva the red card he was supossed to have.

If Brazil was left with 10 man from then on, the score would've been much more skewed towards the Dutch.

The ref actually wanted to keep it a match and helped Brazil from getting overwhelmed emotionally again.

if that was the case, as i said the score would be much more skewed towards the Dutch, as frankly 3 of the 7 goals Germany made within 6 mins weren't because of the German team's so called superiority, it's just that the Brazilian squad couldn't keep their emotions in check, and everything came tumbling down and germany didn't let up.

So people who honestly judge Germany by this 1 match and see them as favourites love to jump on bandwagons and completely forget how they drew against Ghana and barely beat a France which was helf together long enough to self-implode after the World Cup.

As i see it, The German squad will be in for a surprise if they judge their own skill on basis of their game against Brazil, instead of their previous games.

Because Argentina won't implode like Brazil.

The German team were the first people who tried to stop the euphoria about the game. They're not stupid, they know how this game fits into the bigger picture. They didn't celebrate big, they were focused and they know what Argentina is for a team. No one expects a festival like the semis.

The game can easily go either way but in my opinion the Germans can only defeat themselves. Wouldn't be the first time if they started to show nerves in an important game.

I just wanted to see Brazil suffer even more!

I guess that's one reason.

That's the best and only reason if you really think about it!

Meh, the FIBA Basketball World Cup is getting better also.  Especially since they are going to move the year in which it is played to not be the same year as the FIFA World Cup.  Plus in the last couple of tornaments the US has actually send decenet squats to the tournament not the C or D level squads that participated in previous tournaments.

Germany 5- Argentina 0.
Germany will tear apart Argentina like they did to Brazil and Portugal. Argentina are the luckiest team to make it to a World Cup Final. Luck can only get you so far.

No there where a couple of teams that where luckier then Argentia that made the finals in previous Wold Cups.  That being said I wouldn't mind if Germany would win 5 to 0.

Van Persie easily should have gotten a red yesterday

I respect the German team, they are great players. But today Argentina is gonna proove that they are not a lucky team. GO ARGENTINA!
