Verati is amazing.

Entertaining Game so far.

That was definitely what I would call a great football match. Great performances from Veratti, Lucas, Willian and Maxwell!

I don't see it as particularly disrespectful in comparison to other things that goes on on the pitch. Players going in for tackles with their studs, which can end players careers in a heartbeat, free kick tricks, dives in penalty areas, or the very player who tripped Messi during said penalty after Messi did an unbeliavable dribble, and raised his hands in the air signaling that he did nothing wrong, while knowing full well that he did, and robbed the footboll world of a potential wonder goal.

What Messi did to Boateng in the CL semi-final, that was disrespectful, and it will haunt Boateng for the rest of his career. But it was a lovely showcase of skill none the less that the football world wanted to see, and not a move he should have held back on just because it may be disrespectful.
It got everyone talking. And that's what people are doing now as well.

Different contexts I guess. I mean the Boateng thing was a show on skill on the pitch and what Messi is known for and can show at the drop of a hat, he outplayed a player and bravo to him. Tackling with studs is banned and if players do it, it's usually by mistake or is a rash challenge out of annoyance, frustration or anger (most the time they've just lost the ball and it's in the middle of the pitch), I wouldn't say it's disrespectful as it's the heat of the moment in game.

This however was planned, like on the training field. "Haha, you know what you be really funny guys? If we... " etc. It comes with a certain amount of arrogance I don't like to see. But again, this is a personal thing, they are meant to be professionals, not kids in a school football match thinking they are clever. Just because Cruyff did it too, doesn't mean I think it's great then either.

Hmm, pie.

I don't think a penalty like this is disrespectful.
It's simply stupid because the chances of scoring a goal is reduced by quite a bit. Other than that it's just like any free kick.

Ronaldo silenced his recent critics tonight.

Alessandro Florenzi is great, he kept on impressing me! Salah can run but he is kinda terrible at finishing what he starts. Good to see Shawrawi is back, he isn't bad at all. The referee made questionable decisions.

Roma played well but that R7 goal.... damn.

Well, the ball hits the defender and that's why he scored the goal xDDDDD. Jese's goal was pretty good, though.I think Roma made a good game and didn't deserve to lose that way.

Barca miss like 40% of their penalties recently. They have to be the worst top team in terms of penalty conversion rate. So honestly I wish they would keep passing lol.

So to me, I think the important thing is if you're following the rules or not.

Of course, but cheating and being dishonest is another thing. You know like IRL, you can be disrespectful towards others without breaking the law.  Your example of Messi vs. Boateng isn't really comparable either, there's nothing wrong with one world-class player outplaying another.

But for the actual topic, I watched PSG- Chelsea and Gent - Wolfsburg and those were very entertaining games. PSG was particularly impressive, some sweet and quick passing game, Verratti, Motta and Matuidi are amazing midfielders.  Chelsea was ok too but they seemed too comfortable with 1-1 result.

I'm a Celta supporter, and I must say I didn't feel disrespected or something like that. I think it was genius and a nice tribute to Cruyff. I love imagination and magic in football, being from my team or for the rivals.
