Wii was Wii, and GC had a lot of 3rd party relative to the Wii U.
Nobody's saying Wii U won't survive, but the topic is will Wii U be in 3rd place and given facts, 100 to 1 that will be the case.

The excite factor of the XOne & PS4 is wearing down. Wii U has now won/winning Japan. XOne will drop in numbers sold faster then the PS4. Most held out on the Wii U to see what's to come of the other consoles. They're here and now it's about the games. I am not at all surprise if Nintendo win E3. So much is going on at Sony for them to win. Microsoft, forget it. Lol Mostly all Nintendo games are exclusives and what's going separate the Wii U from the others.
are they winning japan?? even if they are,by how much, percentage points? that's a drop in the bucket, japan is dying quick for the world of consoles, its a handheld country/market now.. whats exactly going on at sony?? some layoffs? they're also hiring quite a bit now....heres whats going on at sony, great sales and the best 1st party lineup and best multiplat games.. they sold this much with a lot of their big guns still to show,,e3 is only gonna make ppl more insane for the ps4... you think ppl are gonna see the next uncharted/gow/media molecule/ new guerrilla ip, project beast(new demonsouls), new quantic dreams and the new sexy driveclub footage and say, nah,i want that go-kart game/console instead? and how is missing top multiplat games ever a good thing? there is no hype/want from the wiiu anywhere to be found except for a small hardcore group, the wii massive casual following has moved on to other things(ps4/phone games)
I don't get it. Are there people who honestly believe that there will be chance that Wii U will not be 3rd place?
They could release 3 Zeldas, 5 Star Foxes and 7 Metroid Primes this year and they still would eventually land behind X1.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

What do the DS, Wii and 3DS have in common? Answer: People saying it won't win.
What do the PS3, PSP Go and Vita have in common? Answer:

I believe it will at least come in second.
Smash Brothers and Mario Kart alone will push Wii U over 9 million total this year, in my opinion. Those games have a HUGE following, and Mario Kart alone has double the following of Smash. Both excellent games, one with comical fighting that will make you LOL with friends while the other has very fun racing modes online! :)
Wii U will definitely be 3rd place overall this gen though, unless there is a major change on the battle field in these console wars. The PS4 and X1 are too close to it in price already and have nice games on the way in much larger quantity. Nintendo makes great games, but 3rd parties can do the same at a much faster rate on the other systems running laps around the Wii U's releases.
I don't see how you can say Wii won last gen, how did it who for you as a gamer?
most games were always released on the other console's and the Wii software support was cut early, I mean really early ie it was a rubbish investment
even now games are released on the other console's whilst Wii is a dead console
it didn't win anything apart from selling more units due to it having a toy status
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Xbox 360 won in software sales versus the Wii by a margin. Wii dominated hardware sales, and had 2nd place in software sales. PS3 was 3rd place in software sales, but 2nd in hardware by a margin. In my opinion, Wii won that generation, with people that didn't really even game loving the system. Had Nintendo been wiser, they would have released a Wii U Sports HD edition!

No, I meant it is already clear that it will finish in third place. The point in time that determined that outcome was in the past, so it's not going to be in the future. |
and at what point in the past was that?

anybody who is going to try to deny the fact that the wii won last generation is really resistant (for some reason) to join us, here in reality. In reality, from 2006 until some time recently, the wii and 360 and ps3 battled for the consumer's attention. what ended up happening? well, those of us who pay attention to reality see that the wii did that the most. im sorry that other consoles that people like don't have the title of winner of seventh gen, but you know what? that happens every generation. there are always going to be people disappointed.
