I can tell you what will happen if third party returns to WiiU. I will ignore their games.
Every month they are absent they show Nintendo gamers that noone needs them. and I agree. I am used to not playing their games on consoles (I have a 360 and PS3 etc but still dont buy their games EA/Activision and to a lesser extend Ubisoft that is) I'd rather wait a year to get the games for 5 bucks on steam than buying unfinished or unpolished games that have framerate issues etc.
And by the time they are fixed/patched and finally good on consoles they are 5 bucks on steam.
Also if their reason is "there is not enough people that deserve our support" then my reason for not supporting their games "not enough effort put into the game/polish to deserve my money"
TBH if they want to sell games on Wiiu they should shape the WiiU userbase so they buy their products not make them used to not having the games.
Subpar ports, old ports, missing features, insulting the userbase(like ea did), 1 game vs trilogy on competition, being absent so their IP cannot be established just to come back and fail+whine and be absent again to come back years later again, anualizing their games, demanding 60 bucks for a roster update DLC which actually is worth 5bucks or having unrealistic sales expectations (ZombiU needs way more than 1m sold on a single new console with a launch userbase of ZERO to be profitable even tho its a low budget title BUT WatchDogs on 165m PS360s + ??m PCs + 7m PS4s + 5m X1 and 6m WiiUs is a huge success when it just hits 6m sold? ROFL. )
