Forums - Sales - PS Vita under 3.4k in the US for the month of April

No appeal to kids means no sales in the west. The Vita only has games aimed at older gamers but the average 20-something in the west will be spending their time on a phone or a tablet. Sony, for whatever reason, does not understand that.

Still, I don't personally care that much. I prefer RPGs to CoD or Assassin's Creed.

You have a 3DS instead of a Vita then?

third party fault

Nope, just an unappealing machine.

It has Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, FIFA, Persona, Need for Speed, Final Fantasy, Rayman, LEGO, Madden, Batman, Metal Gear...

Its had plenty of support from 3rd party studios. You could possibly argue that its had better support from Western developers than the 3DS, which is bordering on idiotic when you look at sales figures.OnlyFor

For too years this is too bad

Call of duty is not developed by Activision it's developed by Sony first party,Fifa is always the same games every years their is any effor on it ,Metal Gear solid is a  late port of a ps2 classics,Final Fantasy is jut a remake do you call this big effort.

Assasin Creed is the only effort made by third party.

Why third party don't release each multiplatform games on vita since, where is the originals Final Fantasy,Kingdoms hearts,Metal Gear Solid,Tekken,Gran theft auto, Midnight Club, burnout,Star wars,Sims,Socom,Medal of honnor,Silent Hills,Virtual Tennis etc.

PSP sold well in first years because third third party support it very well and it's sales fall out when third party abondon it not even the gran turismo game help it in it's last years

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Unfortunately for you your downplaying statements makes you come off as damage controlling ...

both handhelds are dying.. PS vita is barely even relevant.. the 3DS is down by a monstrous number compared to last year... everywhere.. tablet sales are skyrocketing every year.. and it'll continue...... as they become cheaper and more accessable to the GP

Tablet sales are actually dropping (http://www.zdnet.com/dropping-tablet-sales-blame-apple-7000029044/), they're still crazy high but they are slowing down.

Ha ha haoly crap.

Smeags prepared me for this!

It's a character building time to be a Vita owner. Lets see what May brings us.

April showers bring May flowers!

But you're right: Ha ha haoly crap.

I also added the source (CreamSugar via NeoGAF) to the OP

Even when a product is not wanted/popular, if its not available for sale, kinda hard to buy one. I'm sure if you average shipments over the past couple months you will see a slowdown that you did not see in years prior.

But don't worry guys, I'm sure when Sony announces a 500-1000% increase in sales month over month for May's NPD someone will be quick to create another thread.

Also, despite its flop status, Sony sure has a way to whip 3rd parties in shape to release games for it. Guess it has some relevance.

I keep telling everybody. SCEA has no idea what a Vita is anymore.

If there is a book on how to kill your own product, this is probably a good example. XD

Vita is getting games nearly every week by 3rd party in Japan it's not the case in West sometimes we don't get any games for severals month.

Are people really saying this is due to supply.... wow.

You'd have to be pretty ignorant to think numbers this low aren't caused by supply issues. Sure the Vita's situation is beyond repair in the west but in this case you can't sell what you don't ship and Sony hasnt been shipping 1000 models since early February. May and June's NPD will give us a better look at how the Vita's going to perform in the US from now on.

If it can't even break 20k in May's NPD then I'll believe it's low sales from March and April aren't caused by no stock.

PlayStation Vita Japanese Software Sales (Media Create Physical/ Famitsu Digital)

Since I own a Vita I think this is sad. NA in general is sad. I think here in europe it is performing quite well. Everytime I hit that Near button, I see people with a Vita.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

I would like to say Vita's sales in the US are proportionate to the effort put in by SCEA. I know that isn't true cause Vita doesn't have negative sales.
