And unfortunately for Sony they are barely surviving, period.
This has got to be Sony's virtual boy ... They screwed up the vita beyond repair and quite frankly I would rather not see Sony enter the handheld market again unless their determined to win.
Sony, you don't compete to get OBLITERATED, you compete to beat the shit out of your competitors like you always did back in the PS1/2 days! You had potential with the PSP, Sony but you've squandered your image for handhelds.

Flop is kind of a strong word. The Wii U is a flop relative to the Wii.
The 3DS is still going to end up clearing 70 million units comfortably, maybe 80 million. I don't think any system that sells more than the NES or SNES can realistically be considered a flop.
A dissapointment, sure.

I don't blame Sony... entirely.
There are things Sony could have done to stimulate more sales, but the market has clearly changed. Apparently Nintendo handheld sales are down as well, even with Sony virtually out of the picture.

Sony mobile and playstation are doing way better than ever before.. at the moment.. the rest of the company is half dead and is sucking the life out of those two divisions.. hence why the xperia brand is almost nothing in the U.S..... since they prob don't have funds to push it hard enough yet

But at least it's making money, unlike Wii U/Vita. And that's what matters, not a silly comparison.
I wonder who will be more succesful at the end of this gen: Nintendo with the great, but not amazing 3DS and the (this could change a bit in the next month/s) horrible but with a lot of pontential Wii U, or Playstation with the horrendous but loved Vita, and the fantastic (but not as unbelievable as expected) PS4!? Place your bets here, there's a long way to go!
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

both handhelds are dying.. PS vita is barely even relevant.. the 3DS is down by a monstrous number compared to last year... everywhere.. tablet sales are skyrocketing every year.. and it'll continue...... as they become cheaper and more accessable to the GP
