@Putin
Thanks for insulting me and intentionally misunderstanding me...
I siad thebcolor of the car is a single pixel texture, not banners, commercials nor multi colored fonts and we knownthat Mario Kart 8 has banners and commercials too on the karts. If you do not like facts then say so and I will avoid you or you avoid me or at least try to accept the facts.
If being factual is being stupid then I guess the entire world is stupid, also thanks for insulting entire VG Chartz and Pemalite too...
Di you know what is the key difference between Grand Turismo 5/6 and Mario Kart 8? In Grand Turismo you have only cars with only animation being the wheels, some tilting of the car and minor effects versus what is in Mario Kart 8 that has higher quality effects, more animations, actual characters(with textures, animation and all...) also look at levels such as Rainbow Road 64 remake, Mario Kart 8 Rainbow Road and Mario Kart Stadium with actual animated audience nor to mention that LOD reduction is nowhere as severe as in Grand Turismo...
Okay, so you did not start the comparison yet you engaded into an argument rather than to ignore him yet you call him out for "damage control" and yet you are the one doing it and that is not my opinion. I am justnsaying what is obvious and confirmed that by insulting me while intentionally misunderstanding me.
Modnation Racing and Little Big Planet Kart ended up like that not because they were half-finished games nor because they were low budget nor short development time a you claim, but because of limitations of PlayStation 3. If Little Big Planet Kart didnt had a big budget then why United Front Games and SCE created a brand new engine for it? Creating brand new engines is not cheap you know also is developing a game for nearly two years a short time? NO. If it was under a year then I would say yes and agreed with you if you were correct/being factual.
You need to stop making excuses, it make you look bad...
If you did not knew, Little Big Planet Kart is one of main Sony's titles because it is Little Big Planet afterall and you should know that by de facto if you are Sony fan or at least own a PlayStation 3, your ignorance should not be an excuse. Comparing Mario Kart 8 with Modnation Racing and Little Big Planet Kart is a valid and fair comparison, United Front Games consists of former members of EA Black Box, Rockstar Vancouver, Radical Entertainment and Volition Inc so you have an experienced peoplenthat apready had experience with Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 hardware which share similarities to each other. Modnation Racing was released in middle of 2010 so a little over three years after PlayStation 3 was released and several months after PlayStation 3 firmware update was released that freed up a good amount of RAM for developers so it was easier to fit a game and easier to develop for in the end. Little Big Planet Kart is released nearly 5 years after release of PlayStation 3 and by know most if not all developers maxed out potential of PlayStation 3 also Media Molecule aided United Front Games in its developkent... So you have two studios working on it with brand new engine and materials, a game completelly created from sground up.
And one more thing for you, a fact that I already mentioned in this and other threads numerous times and individuals like you either dont read, ignore it or dont want to accept the facts. Making "realistic" games is not more intensive than "cartoon" looking games. You are mixing artstyle with visuals and technical stuff... So no, its not a given and your ignorance is starting to annoy me... Do the research before you speak, you are dummy and will be a dummy ultil you do research involving that or that subject.
Also Mario Kart 8, Modnation Racing and Little Big Planet Kart are not really that cartoon looking to games such as Borderlands, Jet Set Radio and its sequel, Ratchet and Clank, etc... Be factual for once.
@Pemalite
I agree with you Pemalite, GFLOPS is only a rough comparison and nothing more... We all know that Wii U is vastly superior to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 while some are in denial.
Yep... The car paint in GT 3/4/5/6... Consits of one texel stretched around the car to have a high definition look yet not really that intensive. I know, mostly in racing and some cell shaded games.
You misunderstood me involving generational API and I know that nd I think you intentionally misunderstood me this time also you need hardware that supports that API natively so DirectX 11 or Open GL 4.3 wont work on Nintendo 64 because it does not support it hardware wise while you could emulate those via CPU and other tricks eg emulate those effects like on Wii with Fast Racing Neo ith AO.
If anyone jnterested look at page 13 this thread... Sorry l.
