Their fetish for making energy efficient consoles get in the way of making mild contenders that consume over 100 watts. Then be more specific to portray Nintendo's target as an unthrottled Tegra K1 looks like it's more than a match for the WII U. What exactly did Nintendo demand that their next generation hardware be capable of ?

The GPU is more important to the discussion at hand rather than the CPU ...

Dude there target was 360 like graphics and they haven't even matched it yet.

Did you look at the pics in the article it confirms the wiiu gpu to be 45nm process node

Even if the GPU is manufactured at 45nm process node it stll doesn't make a huge difference as their would only be a 10% chip area scaling difference at most.

160 shader units seems a little more reasonable since we now know it's on a larger process than the 40nm TSMC parts we were using to compare. I'm sure some can still argue otherwise, but I've personally seen enough to convince me that those numbers are accurate.



Mario kart 8 aliasing is goddamn horrendous and the texturework/AF is really below par.
Jeez. At least it's 60FPS. It's certainly not a looker, that's for sure.
