Retro aren't really in a position to make technical demands of Nintendo.

Then just what technical requirements did Nintendo have for their next generation console ? Their fetish for making energy efficient consoles get in the way of making mild contenders that consume over 100 watts. A 30 watt device doesn't seem really impressive to those developers and this makes things even worse as the WII U is using the older 40nm process node.

The wiiu uses a 45 process node confirmed by chip works http://chipworksrealchips.blogspot.com/2014/02/intels-e-dram-shows-up-in-wild.html?m=1   they compare wiiu edram vs 360 edram and give out die sizes.
