Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo to showcase multiple games only made possible by the Gamepad at E3

Going on two years after unleashing the Wii U unto the world, Nintendo is still searching for compelling reasons for its tablet-style controller to exist. Sure, off-screen play is neat and a handful of games make novel use of the second screen; but it's just not enough.

Nintendo seems keenly aware of these shortcomings, and plans to come out guns blazing at E3 this year. During the Q&A portion of the company's recent financial results briefing, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed plans to demonstrate the value of the GamePad by introducing multiple games only made possible by the controller.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. And speculate wildly in the meantime.

"Games only made possible by the Gamepad at E3" Nope... I am sure there will be some but all of them? I highly doubt that

I think you misunderstand the statement.
If the word "only" came first, it would mean exclusively games made possible by the Gamepad.  Having it after the word "games," the "only" means that there will be games that are exclusively possible via use of the Gamepad.

Local multiplayer with the tablet controller as the second screen would be nice, especially if the gameplay for the player with the tablet controller uses the touch screen.

I still think it's way to late though. If Nintendo didn't have any great ideas for using the tablet controller before launch they shouldn't have released the console with.

Man, I hope so. Nintendo needs to go either all-or-nothing with their unique approaches to consoles. The Wii spread because people saw the experience they could have with Wii Sports and the controller. Over the years, no other game took off specifically because of their unique use of the controller besides arguably Mario Kart, and it didn't differentiate itself from the competition. The WiiU needs to have that "Wii Sports" to really sell the gamepad and show why it's not only unique, but a better gaming experience.

Not too optimistic about it at this stage, as I can't imagine anything 'hardcore' coming out of it. Mario Party U or something along those lines is most likely I would guess
