I thought it was gonna be a better explanation. That doesnt explain why it has to be on all the time. If anything it supports the idea that it doesnt, because the Morpheus is an acessory that isnt yet available.

I still choose to believe a more likely explanation: Ego's. Some guy had this idea that he thought was amazing and the others let him run with it. The light bar is a poor idea and it should be removed from the controlled with due haste. It serves no practical purpose. Even if its because of Morpheus. What does it matter? You will have a visor on your face. You're not even gonna see that light!

So i believe this is a technical issue that was completely blindsided because of the Ego behind this idea. No one wanted to take this person on and he wants to be able to say that his touch is there in the system. Pretty much like the kinect with the xbox1.

lol, everyone I know thinks the lightbar is awesome (including me) stop trying to speak for everyone. From my personal experience it has been 100% postive on it and around the internet more seem to like it than do not. It is awesome in games that use it properly (Killzone for instance)

I'm  sorry, but everyone i trust dislikes it. I know exactly what it is cause i have it and i really want to put the tomb raider torch lights in front of your eyes for 5 minutes to see how you would feel. Your statement is ridiculous, maybe because you dont have a game that does it worse or because your eye sight is already damaged so you dont even notice it.

Still, none of it matters in front of battery life. Its the most important thing.

I'm not sure what you mean by that?  It is being tracked from the looks of it.  Do you have a video where it didn't?  It has lights in the back of the headset.

Eh, Kinect wouldn't be that much better.  You have to consider that placement in the best case has to match up in the game world and the real world.  Which isn't an easy thing to do.

How is it a cheap implementation of VR?

The video here shows it. When the player turns around and goes down the display doesn't match up.

So it doesn't track correctly and destroys the VR. But this is no wonder as you can easily tell be the sheer count of IR lights put onto the Ocolus. They are there for a suppose and if there would have been a cheaper way to archive the same amount of fine grained tracking Ocolus would have done that. There is also a reason why Ocolus uses Infrared...

Sony tried the cheaper way and failed. Its like those Move controllers whose pointer function is also a cheap copy of the WiiMote and also doesn't work quite well for that particular purpose.

A good VR isn't easy to archive. And I fear that Sony might even go further and implement a wireless connection to Morpheus which will lead to another sort of problems which aren't found in proper VR systems.

You can argue against that - but VR for the masses doesn't mean a sub-optimal solution which works only in a laboritory setup

Except Move works better than the Wiimote...

That's the plan.

I hope Sony stick to their guns on this one, I have the PS4 and love the lightbar thing. People are becoming bullies toward Sony because they alwayd listen, they got to stand their ground sometimes, like MS and Nintendo do.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Dude great. You love the lightbar. But adding a off option doesn't ruin it for the people who love it. The thing also fails at its secondary function. The controller port numer. Who's gonna remember a color over 4 dots on the DS3. That works if the controller is physically that color. But not if all of them are black and the front has a randomized color for the other players. People get miffed cause it's just a simple solution. It's as bad as not allowing the PS3 BD remote to work on the PS4.

Mine is disabled, and I've had 0 issues wthout it on. Except in one area. When the system is off and the light was used to tell if the PS4 controller is fully charaged. But I can check it with the small battery popup when I start the system. So still no major loss.

Very well said. My having the option to turn that stupid light off doesn't alter others enjoyment of it. I play the games, I don't stare at and play the light bar. All it does is suck up battery power. Pack an 8ft cord in instead of that short one and maybe it won't be so bad. Some here keep saying they don't understand why some dislike the lightbar, I don't get how some think the lightbar is "fun". But to each his own... Let me have mine(shut it off) and you can have fun with it on.

Really, why should they hold their ground against giving a choice? If you like it, keep it on. But let those that dont turn it off.

I dont see why we should be forced to keep on a light that serves no practical purpose.

Eh, out of 10+ people I personally know with (a decent amount of) experience  with it they all enjoy it. Why do you try to make your opinion a fact? If you do not like it fine but quit pretending everyone who does like it is wrong.

It does serve a purpose..... As I said before it is cool in the few games that utilize it correctly. As time goes on more will do it.... You seem WAAAAY to worried about this.

It is hilarious when someone is playing Killzone and they get shot and the red light is flashing red with the controller vibration simulating a heartbeat. They look down and see if they get hit again they are dead. It just adds to immersion.

I think its still pretty useless... They couldn't have a simple off switch for it? I mean come on, I doubt everyone is gonna buy that VR thing anyway.. Why not just have a simple on and off button to turn it off for the people that dont want it?

Also, did you know that puppies die everytime someone puts caps on the title? Something to think about loll

Sorry about the Caps, I will keep that in mind =D

I guess the on-off thingy would increase costs or something, doesn´t make much sense to me either =/

It's ok, they weren't very nice puppies.  They bit people.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
