Paper Mario 1 because the soundtrack outclasses the game by several orders of magnitude.

TTYD was better put together, however.

I enjoyed the turn based gameplay, and environments though. I played it more of like a Zelda game than a Paper Mario, I can understand why most people hate it though, as the battles didn't have much meaning.

For me, the Wii version would have been better if it had a turn based gameplay, the Wii one had the best story IMO.

I agree about SPM having the best story! Oddly enough, Nintendo did a survey in Club Nintendo in 2007 and apparently not even 1% of the fans thought the story was interesting!

Wow. A lot more people went for Super Paper Mario than I thought. Personally I thought it was okay, but I can see how it could be great in the eyes of others.

I thought it was a good game! Sure, I would have preferred the game to be turn-based, but the soundtrack, story, visuals, secrets and even the overall gameplay were all pretty good in my opinion!

Even though TTYD had alot of improvements over the original i still find myself going back to it much more then the others.

I'd rank them as following

Paper Mario TTYD
Super Paper Mario
Paper Mario SS -------> ( i didn't really enjoy this 1 much at all)

Basically.

Paper Mario was amazing and my favorite game for the 64, followed by Bomberman 64, Snap, Collesium, Crystal Shards, and Smash.

But The Thousand Year Door was the perfect sequel, not to mention

I would say Paper Mario but I have to see through the Nostalgia. Its really hard...
