I'm a whiny entitlist because I care about the consumers interest? Good to know, I guess I am then :)

good for you caring aboutconsumer interest... go put that to use where its needed. just because you dont find value in it doesnt mean its anticonsomer no matter how much you want it to be

sony strategy: give free AAA games in ps3 to people think ps+ is awesome.
Than, in ps4, offer bad deals.
of course it will let players upset.

not anticonsumer at all cos is an option, but is not what ps+ supose to be.

@riecsou -- if you upgrade the psn plus free digital version to the full game then if your account is not renewed,, the game you paid 50 bucks ( for the upgrade) won't be able to be played until you have renewed your psn plus account. Thats the anti consumer that people here and other websites are complaining about. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-01-whats-included-in-driveclubs-free-playstation-plus-edition and http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/05/07/driveclub-playstation-plus-edition-details-2/

To me it looks more like a bad deal than anti-consumer.

Now if when the game actually comes out, if there is not a visible warning for user before the upgrade then I will call this anti-consumer.

But does sound a bit fishy.

Its 100% that there will be a disclaimer. Everytime you get a free game a disclaimer pops up.... You need to get a free game to take advantage of this deal.

@riecsou -- if they wanted to do a rental type deal with driveclub then they should have offered it in full for free only for those who have psn plus . Ideally they could have given a demo for free for psn plus users and allowed the gamer to purchase the game in full on psn much like how it was back in the ps3 day. With the way they are proposing,, its pointless to offer a upgrade since you don't own the game you purchase even though you pay a hefty price for it. They could jsut offer the demo with no upgrades adn if people like the demo,, then they go and buy the retail copy.

So I get 3 options to play the game
1 is free with PS+ and just a small percentage of the full game
1 is an expensive rental tight with PS+
1 is the full game
And I missing the choice that is anti-consumer???

The game was designed to be tied to PSN Plus because they are trying to build a community around it.

That really is a crappy purchase model that Ps4 owners should protest against. If Driveclub gets away with it, what's stopping Sony from doing it with other games? This is a form of DRM if you think about. If your internet goes out, there is no way to play the game you payed for.

Can people not read?

How is this so hard to understand? I already summed it up a few pages back, it's exactly like I said. It's an option on top of the usual ways of buying the game. Normally there are 2, here there are 3, including those traditional 2.

The issue is not just this instance, but the precedence that it sets. How long until the 2 traditional options are gone?

While the original Xbox One (DRM edition) was a big step, it was by no means the first step. Once consumers are okay with paid online access, it's only one more step to be okay with renting cheap games (instead of owning them) along with the subscription. Then consumers just need to be slowly introduced to renting AAA titles, and it's just one more step to then Xbox One (DRM edition).

Had Microsoft remained patient, launched the Xbox One (180 edition) without attempting their DRM plans, and waited until next gen to try it (with a few more of these little steps along the way), we may not have heard the slightest peep from consumers.

Hell, judging by the apathy demonstrated here, we probably still won't.

pretty shady indeed, hopefully it's just a mis-translation of words, doesn't really feel anti-consumer, just seems like someone at Sony or Evo. studios didn't think the process through(still shitty though) still got some time before driveclub comes out hopefully they fix this

Millions seems too high. You can buy the full game digitally for $60, completely ignoring the PS Plus deal. And there might very well be a disclaimer when upgrading the PS Plus that tells you that the upgraded version will be tied to PS Plus.

Honestly the number of people doing this unknowingly and then actually being negatively affected by this, because their subscription runs out while they're still playing is probably going to be ridiculously small.

But does that make it ok? You could apply the same logic to justify the Pre-180 XB1 that the whole internet was up in arms over.

With the X1 plans millions of people would have been affected by it. The fans of Xbox exclusive franchises would have either needed to put up with MS DRM or not play the franchises they love anymore. No reselling or buying used (which are both things many people do) or no Halo, that was the choice they were given.

In this case it's have the game tied to your PS Plus account or just buy it for regular price to fully own it. I really can't get up in arms about this, especially since I just don't see this plan being very successful anyway.

Also I feel that it's peoples job to inform themselves about the purchases they make, I'm sure Sony won't hide this, illustrated by the fact that is out in the open already, so if people fail to catch up on this piece of information which will probably be listed on the PS store page of the PS Plus upgrade, then I think that that's nobody fault but their own.

Though I agree that people should inform themselves better before making a decision, this sounds too much like a con man's justification.

Only 50 cars its been delayed for so long it should have a lot more cars then that.
