Did they make a loss last year as well?

Anyway, I forsee another loss, WiiU is still losing money which is crazy.

This is the 3rd year in a row that Nintendo has made an operating loss.

Yeah but that doesn't matter as long as you have cash reserves. At least that's what I've heard in here. People seem to think that if a company has 10 billion dollars, they can keep on losing a few hundred million every year for many years without any consequences.

That's not how things work though, naturally. As for operating losses; between developing the QoL platform, possibly a new handheld, selling their home console at a loss, carrying almost all the software responsibility on their current main platform and building new HQ; there's no way they will post a profit for quite some time.

Even worse. Those 10B are now like 3.5-3.7B. From June 2012 to March 2014.

maybe they are expecting higher software sales for 3DS and WiiU?

also, they started licensing their IP's, so that will sure bring them some money.

Their projections have them both roughly flat YoY.  67.89m shipped for 3DS, 67m projected next year.  18.86m Wii U, 20m projected.

Not sure if that is a sign of them being conservative, or if Wii U support is going to be thin outside of Smash and MK.

Are you saying they won't make $200 million dollars in profit for the next fiscal year? Because they will. They have Mario Kart 8, Smash for 3DS, and the new Pokemon 3DS game. Animal Crossing New Leaf already generated over $200 million alone.

And how did they posted a loss with Pokemon XY, 3DWorld, 2DS and Animal Crossing in the west?

A non-gamepad WiiU might be in the plans. It would bring in the fastest profits on the WiiU side.

I doubt that would help much.

The gamepad would probably cost like 60/70 $. Replacing it with a 20 $ pro controller, would at least make the WiiU sell with a profit - perhaps even a good one.

They're barely using anyway. Nintendo's own first party doesn't even care about it. Whatever little software might use it, could be sold with a seperate Gamepad bundle or some NFC plugin device.

I thought they made a loss and profit at the same time tho? (lol) Just like how Sony is losing money but the Playstation division made a profit..

Huh? They posted a loss, even with big software sellers like 3D World and Pokemon XY.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

NOT discount Wii U/3DS and instead continue focus on the bundling options through the end of 2014. Then have a price cut April 2015 as the next consoles are announced.
