Maybe this thread should be somewhere else, but I wanted to be as general as possible.

Something we're all aware of around these parts is the act of trolling.

I don't think everyone does it...in fact I can think of a few I've never seen troll.  So let's get that out of the way right now.

So what gives?  Why do you come here to mock people, make up stories about what you own or don't own, form factions of hate, etc.

I know that it's mostly for fun and games...in fact, it's the number one option I've created in the poll.

But I'd really like to know if you're angry...at life, at yourself, at us, etc.  You don't need to identify yourselves...the poll is anonymous, of course.  But if this is the reason, does the trolling help?  Have you found friends (fellow trolls) through this method?  Do you troll in real life? Again, you don't need to answer here, but isn't it fun to speculate about?

Maybe you troll because you really think that you are a soldier in the fight for your console...what rank are you?  Do you know a general or a lieutenant that deserves kudos?  Don't name them...that would certainly be trolling.

Have fun with this one.

I just hate most people.

Though I just troll for my amusement and not for the suffering of others.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Rather than trolling what I do is more akin to parody.
Essentially attacking inconsistencies and exaggerations with equal but opposite claims with a dash of exaggeration to point out how ridiculous a statement is.
e.g someone argues with flawed logic, I offer a counterargument using the same logic but applied to an extreme or comical example that would be of similar effect.
However, the less amount of effort I put into these responses, the closer they are to be considered trolling.

Here are some helpful hints:
*The less words I use, the more likely I am trolling, unfortunately I am also more likely to get banned by Picture only posts as these are the easiest to identify as trolling, because of the lack of words. Thus in the interest of self-preservation, picture only post are typically tamer.
*the sillier the post, the more likely my response will be close to that of trolling
*it is impossible to know whether I am truly trolling, its safer to assume that I am always trolling and simply evaluate them at different degrees.

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

People troll most commonly because they dislike or hate something so they exaggerate or lie about the flaws of something to make fun of it. Another reason is just to be funny.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I do it for the hell of it.
By the way, why do so many adults play Nintendo games? That's just a bunch of kitty shit.
They should be like me and play mature games, because mature people, like myself, need to play mature games.
Mature games for the mature gamers and baby cartoony graphics for the babies. Realistic graphics > cartoony nintoddler stuff.
 Just kidding...
I'll stop now.

Just to irritate people who are being fanatical, unreasonable or are just downright trolling themselves.
