Wow, posts like these really show how entitled some gamers are.

Seriously dude i'm a sony fan, have all their consoles(including portables) but this machines(PS4 and Xbone) were supposed to have enough power to run the games at max at least on the first two years. But devs are having to choose 2 of 3 things in THE FIRST YEAR already!

If they chose graphic and resolution,they sacrifice frammerate(infamous second son);

If they chose graphics and frammerate, they sacrifice resolution(Battlefield 4); -> a cross gen game.

If they choose resolution and frammerate,they sacrifice graphics(Forza 5);

There games that sacrifices resolution and frammerate to reach good graphics like ryse or killzone

I can understand this kind of "optimizations" on older consoles like ps3 and xbox 360 but not on new machines.

I can even understand that some games don't need 60fps like linear games for examples. But at least they show unbelievable graphics and complex physics.

Last year driveclub was supposed to be close to 60fps with day/night cycle and with graphics close to Forza 5 E3 build. They even delayed the game 1 year and now they said the game runs at 30fps and don't have day/night cycle?!

THAT Optimization!!!

Game does have day/night cycles just not realtime 24 hour cycles that changes with the time of your PS4

So many quotes I choose to just not reply to them. Yes I am aware these X1 criticisms mostly occur when a X1 multiplat has lesser stats then the PS4 version.

That said, I just think it is hypocritical to see people brush this off and downplay it. Exclusive or not. If people like to brag about their consoles strength and GDDR5, be prepared to either deal with some games not getting the 1080p/60 fps treatment or god forbid....scale down the bragging.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

need for speed is 30fps and its awesome.

I can't believe that, the internet has forced me to bellieve 1080p and 60 fps is a must.

The only thing that is a must is GDDR5. Games are shit without it.

Lmao, true, true.

This isn't a sim racer like Forza 5 or GT. It's an arcade racer, for which 30fps is pretty common. Forza Horizon is in-fact 30fps :P So is Need For Speed.

30fps + better visuals instead of 60fps minus visuals is trade that has been made over and over and over for several years, by everything from shooters to arcade racers to RPG's.

Would it be hypocritical for me to say that it's fine for Halo 4 to be 30fps, despite COD being 60fps? Of course not, it's a different style of FPS game for which the trade off was seen as a good decision by the developer, just like here with DC.

Forza Horizon is in-fact 30fps <<  a 360 game just so you know.

Anyways, this is exactly my point..look at how you quickly came up with all those excuses and defenses for it being 30fps on ps4.. I am saying if this game was x1 exclusive at 30fps.. ...Oh boy.. :-p

Forza 4 is also a 360 game yet runs 60fps, so what's your point? ^^ Two different types of forza game, one a sim the other an arcade racer, running at two different frame rates.

Halo 4 and COD were also 30fps and 60fps on the 360. Killzone and COD on the PS4 likewise are 30fps and 60fps. The generation doesn't matter. For certain types of games developers will always choose 30fps with better visuals over 60fps with worse visuals, regardless to the generation or power of the console.

If people want 1080p 60fps as a standard then they should be gaming on PC, not consoles. I'll check out the game on PS+, I think it looks fun.

I don't think the expectation of 60 fps on a 8th gen racer is unreasonable.

It simple resources management. It doesn't surprise anyone the the raw power of consoles is limited. The priorities go like this: Better graphics and effects in general ( bigger scale / draw distance) > 1080p ( to show those improved graphics properly) > 60 FPS ( enhance the gameplay slightly in some genres)

In the end, what matters is the experience as a whole and the world the developers create for us to immerse in. Now, there will always be complainers, even if they choose 60Fps over graphics, many complainers would go like " look at dat 2d tree, welcome to next gen lol". Now the only solution for those people to either get involve the PC master race, or to grow up, hah.

Nowadays it seems more "cool" and "Hardcore" to praise ftp and downplay the resolution. As if fps equals gameplay and resolution equals graphics. It is not as simple as that. So, get a PC or grow up :D

In the end, what matters is the experience as a whole and the world the developers create for us to immerse in.   Wow, this nails it.

I wish the internet as a whole had the same views like you those past months...I really do

Now that would be extremely boring, wouldn't it? Sometime you just have to sit back and enjoy :p

Thanks though, I feel flattered ^^

Oh consoles...don't even change.

Imagine a world where Microsoft or Sony unleash the fury and make their high profile next gen 100 million dollar title like Halo 5 or Uncharted 4 ...but optimize it for high end PCs instead of having engineering teams figuring out how to shoehorn an elephant into a console shoe.

Wouldn't that be something?

Halo 5 with 3 monitor surround or 4K and 144hz refresh rate utilizing Nvidia Gsync. Kids would be selling their kidneys and lining up around the block to buy the TitanZ GPU... :)

lol Uncharted games budget is like 22M pre-advertising I believe. Makes you wonder what a 100M dev budget Uncharted could do, let alone one on PC.

Hence why I said the words "imagine"... I know it isn't feasable or possible in todays reality. :)

Your post REALLY makes me want to upgrade my rig lol. Dat 7870

May be a good idea to wait till Maxwell... 7870 is still good for 1080p.

I plan to build a monster PC sometime this year myself. One of those $5000+ builds that you regret the moment you get your credit card statement... :)

Not surprised by the 30fps, considering how damn good looking those environments are @_@

Yep, they are looking for max details for cars and environments, effects, etc; probably this kind of graphics could run at 60 fps in the next 2 years, as developers manage to squeeze more the hardware; but right now, at this development stage, they have to make a choice.  But it's also true that even in the next 2 years, if developers want to improve and improve graphics, they have to keep 1080p/30fps. it's always a developer choice and what to do with the available power with current 'hardware knowledge' , resources and skills !

The fact that this game got delayed almost a year and still can't hit 1080p 60fps should show that the problem is with the hardware. Maybe eventually devs will get a better handle on things.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think it's kinda funny how you see tons of Xbox fans in here going "So what now? It's 30fps, aren't racers supposed to be 60fps, I played a 30fps racer once and it was horrible. I wonder what excuses those ridiculous PS fans will come up with now"

When this is actually nothing but a reconfirmation of what we've known for months now, so I honestly don't really see why people are acting so surprised all of a sudden.

Looking at the trailer all I can say is that the game looks freaking gorgeous and we'll see how it'll play at those 'horrible 30fps' when it launches.
