Oh boy... Sony PR guys got too snob too soon and for to little...

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-on-1080p-60fps-debate-ps4-is-the-machine-developers-want/1100-6417488/

http://gamingeverything.com/just-add-water-sony-pushing-for-60fps-and-1080p-with-ps4/

Sony and its hardcore fans created a trap for themselves when the resolutiongate opened late last year.

They could easily manage how many other aspects of a game are important other than resolution and frame rate. Sony even got "The Last of Us" that is a beautifull but limited world where narative and characters are the most important give aways for the game success.

Now they have to change their speach or explain to the public that if 1080p/60Hz is so important, why Sony for the first year of the console will have only one first party game, which is a lastgen remaster, that hits 1080p/60Hz...

Where in those two articles does a Sony PR guy say how important 1080/60fps is?  The first only mentions that 1080p/60fps is easier to achieve of the PS4 (which is true), and the second isn't a Sony representative at all, but a developer saying that Sony had been pushing for 60fps with them. In-fact in the second article it plainly states that not all titles are going to accomplish 1080p/60fps, and that it depends on the scale of the game in question.

Many developers, on both the PS4 and X1, have chosen better in-game fidelity over higher frame rates, as has been the case for several years. This is a trend that will continue for as long as the static hardware model exists with consoles, weather it be the PS3, PS4, or one day PS5.

Not one of your best efforts Dark ^^;

60fps is more important than eye candy for racing games, in my opinion.

Drive Club Game Director Paul isn't telling the whole truth - or he possibly doesn't know it.

Drive Club Output Resolution: 1920 x 1080 at 60 hz

Drive Club Internal Resolution: 1280 x 720 at 120 hz

You'll notice its visual quality is low in a way, compared to say Project Cars - indicative of 1280 x 720.  Project Cars runs at 1920 x 1080 and 30 hz Drive Club at 1280 x 720 and 120 hz:

Need for Speed: Rivals on Playstation 4 runs at 3840 x 2160 resolution and 30 hz - on an unrelated but interesting note.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Amusing as fuck seeing all the "if youre in to sims then 60fps is essential"

Sorry, if you're in to racing sims enough to moan about the difference between 30fps and 60fps, then chances are you're gaming on a PC at 1080p or higher, at 80fps or higher.

That feel when console gamers are worrying about things like input lag on something as inprecise as a goddamn console controller.

To be fair, even on a console controller the difference between 30fps and 60fps is palpable.

The arguments broken either way, too many people care about framerate only when it benefits them, or is a detriment to others, and in the end thats all this boils down to.

I don't see anything broken about the argument that 60fps trumps 30fps for a racing game. As for people caring only when it benefits them, meh, what else is new?

While it's true that seeing the comparison in real time right in front of you is the best metric, it's not irrelevant to what you said because you claimed you (personally) can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps.  I can tell the difference pretty easily between the two videos I linked which are running at said frame rates, but that doesn't mean everyone can.

What i mean when i sayi cant tell the difference is, Ive played GoWA, TLoU, Puppeteer, InfamousSS, Knack and more within th last year. I couldnt tell you what was 60 and wha was 30. I can tell frame rate drops but i could tell that with either option

Probably because all are 30fps

Yes, and more is all 30fps. Do I really need to name every gam ive played? Because that will be a long list. Just looking at platinum trophies I have 34.

"No Day/Night Cycles"
Wait, what? This alone ruined every Forza 5 thread because it was *the* feature of DC which clearly showed the unrivaled power of PS4 and now this is gone, too? Man, we should dig up the old Forza 5 threads...
