What has smash at bestbuy really got to do with E3 tho? Nothing IMO. What they DO and SHOW at E3 is what deems a "winner".

It's about changing it up from some kind of elitist press-only thing to something that allows "everybody" (putting quotes around that because the geographical spread of participating best buys last year sucked) to get a piece of the action.

I think that comes across as a pretty jaded view to be honest with you, there are a lot of press at E3, they're not all IGN ect an can be considered elitist, heck even VGC go? This is just putting a demo into the hands of gamers, so I go back to my original point, what has it got to do with E3? Just like MS and their touring trucks, fantastic but nout to do with E3.

Also, to all you Europeans, shadup about not getting demos! You have a much wider selection to choose from when picking your free game with Mario Kart 8, so it all evens out!

Oh shush. You lucky Americans only have 4 games to pick from, that's easy - do you have any idea how hard it's going to be to pick one game out of 10 free ones on offer?

Easy as pie of course, since Wii U ain't got even 2 good games, remember?

Yes, I'm sure that when seeing Smash Bros at Bestbuy, people will instantly forget about Destiny, The Division, Metal Gear Solid V, FFXV and other three hundred times more ambitious projects.

I'm interested in knowing how you quantify three hundred times more ambitious projects in comparison to Smash Bros.

It was random, some kind of hyperbole effect, OP being hyperbolic itself when saying Nintendo wins E3 with one game before it even begins.

Still, the games I've cited are likely to be more ambitious because of bigger and more complex world, more character backround/development (maybe not all of them but MGSV clearly), next gen graphics and scenario (which Smash has not).

Right, but the press still isn't the public, hence "elitist", even if they may come from smaller outlets. The point is public access. If it occurs during E3, then it's a part of the E3 event, which needn't be confined to some convention center in Los Angeles.

1080p 60fps, quite possibly locked (though we'll see about that. You can get a LOT of stuff on-screen in these games out of the norm).

While distributing Smash Bros. across the country is awesome it doesn't mean they've won E3. In fact they'll probably be excluded from opinion polls.

Like I said, they won E3 in my book! We all know that regardless of what Nintendo does, they'll never win E3 in the eyes of the majority!

you mean the minority (internet)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

he doesn't realize SSB is the biggest of all the games he mentioned... Not his fault, he nindoesnt kno anything :p

Not sure you've been following US preorders lately : Destiny currently has 26 times more preoders than Smash. FFXV and The Division have more preorders too despite a farer release.

Not sure if serious? Pokemon XY had much more lower numbers than most games on the pre order charts yet its the number 1 selling game currently of the generation.

SSB is also bigger lol And the games yu mention come out before SSB, good try though. SSB has a thing called Legs. It'll be selling for over 5 years and wont stop.
