Whilst I'm happy for you guys out in NA, it sucks for us Europeans to not get the joy of the demos (That said, rather have free healthcare though).

I hope they do a surprise announcement of being able to download some of the demos onto the Wii U after the presentation. Hell, that could be why it's a 'Digital Event' rather than a Direct. They can easily limit the availability to E3 week, or have it so that the demos can only be played for a 2 week period or something.

And I do think that potentially this is going to be an excellent way of presenting. Fingers crossed they have the announcements to make it work.

Why? You can play a ton of new games each year at GamesCom... or at least stand in line to play them ;)

What has smash at bestbuy really got to do with E3 tho? Nothing IMO. What they DO and SHOW at E3 is what deems a "winner".

Maybe, but winning E3 usually means you showed off the most/new/best games. So if they just show a bunch of games that have been announced for years then no I don't think they would win E3.

I have to laugh when people say that Nintendo haven't got any big games to show at E3.

How do you know; they haven't shown them!?

Yes, I'm sure that when seeing Smash Bros at Bestbuy, people will instantly forget about Destiny, The Division, Metal Gear Solid V, FFXV and other three hundred times more ambitious projects.

everybody expects announcements and future of the console from E3, but not the chance to play already announced game more.

They might have but they are not ready/more exiciting to show them at E3, that's why they dont have E3 conference.

It's about changing it up from some kind of elitist press-only thing to something that allows "everybody" (putting quotes around that because the geographical spread of participating best buys last year sucked) to get a piece of the action.

I have no idea what The Division even is. Subjectivity is funny like that.
