Don't know what perspective you have, but Live Gold was adopted out of necessity more then anything. That and microtransactions have always got a negative backlash online.Doing it first doesn't translate to gamers loving you for it.

But to Sony fans, they now LOVE MP paywalls. Microtransactions? Bring em on! Indie titles? Downplayed last gen but now are the future!

I am serious here, Sony has this squeaky clean image that if there is anything controversal that gamers don't like, Sony can and will make it mainstream popular. Seriously.

We could bitch on about Micors all we want, yet some one (a lot of them) are ok with it enough to make it quite profitable for eveyone to be jumping on board.

Its value and making people feel good about their purchese nothing more, MS is good at making people fell fucked over,  Sony is good at making them feel they got a deal.  Its nothing "squeaky clean image" its just plain competance.  MS showed lack of it with the X1 debut fiasco and the other bs after.

Doesn't change my point here that as long as Sony throws in something of "value", they can make anything controversal a nice pill to swallow. In case you may not see I am conplementing Sony here ;)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

That is alright with me, and the microtransactions never bothered me on FORZA5 either, I don´t care as long as I can have fun with the game without buying stuff =D

I play Blacklight once in a while on PS4 and never spent a dime on it, I just don´t give a shit if the other players have more power or whatever, I just want to have a little fun after a hard day at work...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Its not about just trowing some shit in for free, it has to be enough for the consumer yet finencially viable for the comapny.
Plus is such a deal it would sale well even if Multi player was free.

Uncharted 3 had microtransactions, was still one of the best games i ever played. if MT are done in a way that they dont get in the way of playing and dont effect the balance, i dont mind at all.

Did it? Never noticed that. Also, if I had the money and did not have the time, I would probably buy a pack of whatever in a game I enjoyed. Who cares, right? As long as the game is fun...

Ehh it was MS that convinced people of that, now they succesfully launch a game from a major franchise like Forza with less then half the content of its predecessor give you a 80 dollar special ed with a few extras and even but give you a 50$ car pass to buy back some more content that should have been there from day one at the regualt 59.99 price.

Forza 5 a $130 game with half its predecessors content, only at MS.

PS3 launch vs RROD is debatable.  But X1s debut was the most controversial anything as far as xbox PS go.

You really have to stop generalizing like that sales. I still HATE MP paywalls and find them ridiculous and Indie titles have always had some gems in my eyes. Doesn't matter who did it....if it is good it is just good. If it is bad it is just bad....

THe reason in my opinion that MS got all teh crap they did is because they had basically ONLY exclusive indie/arcade titles for a while and were not trying ANYTHING different or new at all as far as big AAA exclusives went. And that was years into the life cycle of the 360. Sony has indie support at the start with some great Indie games and they have still released 3 retail AAA exclusives and have more in the works. And it is also only the start of the generation. The two situations are  seemingly the same yet different if you ask me. Even though I felt like XBLA had some great titles that I loved playing I still felt like they were lacking outside of that as far as exclusives go for the 360 to have already been out for so many years.

And now at the start of the gen on a 5-6 month old console people are trying to act as if it is the same thing when it clearly is not. Sony is getting all this Indie support because MS blew them off so they flocked to Sony. But at the same time Sony still has new IPs annouced and others in the works that they have not annouced. Not getting on you personally Sales it is just I get tired of hearing the same complaints about Sony and Indies just like I get tired of people down playing MS with the XB1 when it is clear they have a heavy focus on games and should be applauded for that.

Lastly I am not a fan of microtransactions either especially if I have already paid full price for a game and it content that should have been included is not just so I have to pay extra for it thanks to microtransactions. Nope don't like it AT ALL.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

PSN: StlUzumaki23

Micro transactions haven't had an affect on how I play games or what games I buy.

So ftp or ptw?

Don't microtransactions just involve paying money to progress faster?
If so I don't see what the big deal is once content is still available as it normally would be and it's not more painstaking than usual to gain unlocks.

Although personally I think there should be some type of distinction between the 2 methods of progress like maybe a badge to show that you grinded for something or special skins or something that wouldn't be unavailable to those who paid to progress

Provided it doesn't rape the game, it's not the worst thing in the world but it is still pretty bad
