Forums - Nintendo - Join me in Pre-ordering Wii U games without ever picking them up- Save Nintendo step 2!

I'm not sure this would help Ninty at all. Does Gamestop buy the game after you put a $5 placeholder on it? It would sure as hell make gamestop mad in the long run if that were so.

O_O

you cant be serious, this is even worse than the wii u pact.

I don't believe in pre-orders, and I don't think a handful of people pre-ordering games with the express intention of not actually buying them will do any good for anyone in the long run.

Good Lord.

I do not care about gamestop. I am sure someone will eventually pick up any copies that I do not buy. I will get one of the Spiderman 2 copies that I pre-order. The rest will just have to sit there until someone gets them. AS you said before with 007 legends. Sometimes it is hard to find these games. Problem solved. I would have done he same for that game if I would have thought about it. By the way. They have it in my area. 39.99 new.....

They have it new in a gamestop in Boca Raton, it's only 45 minutes away but I won't be able to pick it up 'til this weekend. Couldn't find any used or new copies in any local stores in West Palm Beach.  I may opt for the amazon purchase.

But you are right about one thing, finding copies of games for wii u is pretty hard, at least in my area. The local gamestops only pick up Wii U games that are pre ordered.

This was a hilarious read, thanks Spurge!
Reminds me of a story where this annoying Gamestop employee kept asking me if I wanted to pre-order games (back in 2011). I pre-ordered a bunch of games from that November craze and beyond. I told the guy, "I left my wallet in the car," and then drove off without ever going back in there.

"Today I pre-ordered Spiderman 2 on Wii U multiple times from several Gamestops. I will not be picking them up."
hey spurge, no hostility here, but I've got to say that's not a great idea. If you want the money back from the pre-order you'll have to cancel them. Did you know gamestop employees get in trouble for having cancelled pre-orders? All you will do is get them in trouble and possibly make them bitter toward Nintendo fans which will simply make more problems. I love the enthusiasm, but it's a little misplaced here.
I'll go onto say that Nintendo has an obvious problem with 3rd parties. But, the only way I really see to make it better is to pay for exclusives. Their hardware, for the most part, is simply not going to allow for comparable ports from xb4 games. Better to stay unique and have games you just can't get anywhere else. If Nintendo was willing to fork out the cash this would be a very doable business move.
By the way, if you care, rolling those pre-orders over to games that your sure you will buy will keep those employees out of trouble.

I wouldn't advise anyone to do this. The only one who can fix Nintendo's problem is Nintendo.

Can you give me those $5 instead? I promise I'll put the money towards Wii U games!

Ok, this is a little bonkers, but it is a plan.

I will stick to my own. I am reselling all my 3rd party games to a game community that cannot get them at a good price on my country and then I repurchase them, till I finally open them, like this I have sold 4 copies of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, 4 of Assassin's Creed IV, 2 of Deus Ex, 1 of Resident Evil: Revelations, 1 of 007 Legends, 1 of Batman: Arkham City and 1 of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Additionally I have gave away for free through my twitter account 1 copy of NFS: Most Wanted, 3 copies of Ducktales: Remastered and I going to give on May a copy of Resident Evil: Revelations.
