I'd say it's a much more solid plan to actually buy the games, then maybe sell them off. Maybe.
I don't think the preorder thing will come off as positive.

Love how subtle this thread is.

But given how people are correctly pointing out that if this practise became widespread, it would only cause less Ninty titles to be ordered (if you know only 30% of preorders will actually be paid for, you start to only get enough stock for 30% orders), maybe the best tactic would be to preorder, then not collect Xbox One titles.

The Xbox crowd then looks unreliable and their shelf space starts to get moved over to Nintendo.

Spurge, I've got a better idea for you. Buy me a Wii U. Seriously. I promise not to sell it. If you buy me a Wii U, I'm gonna keep supporting it by buying new software for years to come including at least 6-8 games in the first year. What do you think about it?



Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

But, aren't you actually doing Nintendo a disservice, achieveing exact opposite.

You preorder all those games, then don't pick them up, stores end up with excess stock, see that WiiU games don't sell and then in turn order even less of the future titles.

If you really have all that extra cash, and are a fan of Nintendo that much, might I suggest purchasing stock in the company.

It is currently at $13 (http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ntdoy). Being a shareholder, no matter how big or small, you actually have a vote in company meetings, and perhaps your energy can be used then to gather more small shareholders and draft a strategy for the future.

Does not just have to be Gamestop. Places like Walmart where they will never even order any of these games is where it would help the most. At least casual gamers and others would see these games at Walmart with my plan. As it is, these games never make it and their shelves sit empty because they are stubborn.


But if they don't sell following, and the preorders aren't collected, these places will stop even accepting preorders for Nintendo games. Plus, I have absolutely no stake in the exposure of games I wouldn't myself want to pay money for.
