Honestly, Destiny seems to be genre-defining in a way that its the first of what it is. Your group of players will bump into other groups of players and complete "quests" and the like, thanks to Bungie's matchmaing system. Instead of getting countless random weapons like Borderlands, in Destiny you can upgrade/ customize your weapons. Elemental weapons are in, much like Borderlands.
