I noticed that they have nothing planned for 3DS beyond the summer. Can it be a sign?

Ont: I can't wait for E3.. gonna be epic..

And we can stop this.. nintendo do not know what they do.. childish talk :)

How many people think Nintendo has a specific product in mind (or a very very early version of it in mind) for thie QOL platform?

If I read it correct, Iwata sad he though about it ( a new direction or business focus) over the new year then wrote about it for his investor update in early 2014- I don t see how they could have come up with and/or decided on a product or early product prototype n that short of time

Iwata now ruins everything Yamauchi built and he just does not realize it. He is the problem and he must go.

Good one.

OT: I'm neither here nor there on this. It's hard to be when you're looking at such a blank slate.

All i know is he is not thinking of platforms in the physical sense.
So, even if there`s HW coming - as R&D costs seem to point out -, i think it`s going to be a means to an end, not a starting point to something new/unique.

I'd be surprised if the company that doesn't announce launch dates far in advance anymore didn't have a decent idea of what their new platform would look like before setting a target release date for it.

Sign that E3 will have revealed games (or directs/etc)? Also Monster Hunter 4G EXCLUSIVE to 3DS comes out in Fall (1).

Wat are you trying to say with "Can it be a sign?" A new Handheld coming? Or are you trying to say nintendo has no games? (i hope not the second choice -_-)

(1) This is not a Nintendo game. I'm not saying that 3DS won't have games after the summer. Of course it will (although the western line-up is pretty barren). I point out that Nintendo hasn't in-house games in development for 3DS beyond this summer, which would fit with a scenario in which they drop gaming to switch to QoL. But as you said, E3 will tell.
