yakuza ice posts is correct. you are not.

The article I just posted pokes a hole in his illogical theory of Nintendo systems magically staying the same or increasing in manufacturing costs.

If you can't disprove the article, the floor just fell out from under your argument.

It disproves the silly notion that old tech gets more expensive to produce.

not really. youre talking about the first 3 years when nintendo was producing above expectations (already a factor in reducing cost greatly) with an estimated 45%.... put that in real numbers and you talking about a measly 60-70 dollars.... which suppots what we are saying.

The cost of the components and process were effectively halved in just over two years. So much for old tech turning to solid gold as time goes by...

wow, again, your looking at begining life cycle which doesnt address what we said. ignoring other factors that help reduce cost and not addressing what we said. and no one said drastically increases costs. just increases. which is the reason for the hdd sizes going from 60gb at the start to 500gb now. On top of which, 45% of dirt cheap is dirt cheap... like we have been saying. old tech fals slowly

Halving in two years isn't exactly lowering slowly. If we take the $160 figure, that's still a $72 drop; that allows a $50 (20% of full price) cut with $22 of increased profit margin to spare. Wii would have cost $88 to make in early 2009.

Half of a small amount is a small amount. Epecially considering the majority of the reason for it lowering was by breaking so many records and projections
