I would not not call it a flop but it was no where near the game of Super Smash Bros in sales or quality. It is a decent start for a potential series. 1 million across the PS3 and PSVita is not bad at all for a new IP from a non-major studio.

This game probably got 40 million dollars in revenue. I do not see how it could not have made some kind of a profit

I think the name may have hurt the game a little. And I like how this game didn't play exactly like Smash Bros. It made it unique. Wouldn't call it a better game than Smash Bros. though, especially since I only played this on my friend's system for a little while, but it was very enjoyable.

OT: I booted this up again recently and had a blast playing it.  Not the game I wanted it to be, but good fun regardless.

As primarily a Nintendo fan, I actually thought PS All Stars was a decent game. It needs a lot of work but it was a good first try. I liked that you press the X button to jump instead of pressing up. They need to add an option for an HP or % system like Smash Bros. The fights would drag on for a long time cause you could only kill with special moves. My biggest complaint was the roster though. A long history of Sony characters and you can only manage a roster of 12 (?) characters? And a few of them weren't even Sony characters..? Lame.

I'm sure SuperBot is really proud of this accomplishment.

it only took 2 years 2 get there. not really that impressive in my opinion. probably won't even be another one.

The roster may have been many things, but 12 characters it was not.  20 base characters with 4 DLC characters.
