Forums - Nintendo - Will Watchdogs be the last chance for third parties on the Wii U?

Pretty sure that ship has already sailed.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Watchdogs selling well may turn some favor for the WiiU. If it sells badly, things stay where they are.

Bayo2 is far more interesting. If cult, adult themed game can make it big on Wii U, that makes the U far more appealing.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

The only multiplat game I can see being announced for the Wii U for the next few years of Call of Duty: Generic Warfare 4.

I mean it could be, but it's not the only 3rd party game coming this year there's also Spider-man and some others.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

common sense should ditctate this whole ship sailed away already. It was evident with how poor the sales was for even the launch games. Cant even fall back on the whole user base argument. Because the PS4/Xones did MUCH better. What i find funny is that the western pubs get alot of hate but its not like the Japanese ones are falling over in support. Is Square giving the WIi U any games? the last one i saw was Deus Ex and that was a port of a two year old game. Capcom threw them some ports. Tecmo is making a Zelda spinoff. Namco threw them some bones. This isnt good support by any stretch.

Its going to be Wii but kinda worse. It might get a couple of things here and there, but its going to be Lego movie tie in and games geared toward the kids and family. Hell its not even going to get the shovelware to make it look like it has a large library.

Edit: i almost forgot about Sega...but they're Sega

answering the thread title: NO.

and watch dogs doesnt count as a chance.

that ship sailed a long time ago. Nintendo will need to partner with third party publishers for now on if they want content for wii u.

People often cite that the lack of 3rd party games as a factor to the wii u woes - however - multiplats have very little effect in driving hardware and software sales - as individuals often buy them elsewhere, so it is a lose - lose situation for both nintendo and 3rd party publishers

So what can they do? There best chance is partnership programs like Sonic Boom and Lego City undercover. However, they will need to increase the number of partnerships to fill the droughts.

Furthermore, Nintendo's content output for the wii u is abysmal. How can you expect t external support, when you, yourself, are failing to support the console itself. It is an area they need to work on for both the 3ds and Wii U. The Wii U's destiny may be already set - but they can use the platform to set up a strong foundation for their next endeavor.

Im pretty sure it wont sell much. Ubisoft is hurting it with delaying it to fall or even later.
The only third party that sold well was Lego City Undercover and that was also an exclusive game.
I think we wont get much third party support from now on, maybe one game once in a while but nothing too crazy.

define "selling well", because lego city certainly wasn't the only one.

There's no more "last chance" and it's all Nintendo's fault. This game will flop on Wii U. Why would anyone want to wait and pick up this version, when he can get the extended and vastly superior PS4 version?
The only games that should come Wii U's way should be exclusives that make smart use of the GamePad. Other games are just a waste of time and money. Even ports barely cover what they cost. Nintendo should work with 3rd partiest to convince them to form small teams that would work on innovative exclusives, kinda like what Media Molecule did with Tearaway on Vita.

think a little more before saying stuff like this.

Something I don't understand is how Tp devs expect their games to succeed if they make it an inferior version. Most TP games on Wii U either lack content in any form (DLC, Online mode, etc etc) or is released at full price considerably later. Imagine if Project CARS become really hyped - these guys put faith into Wii U, talk a lot about it and if I remember correctly they said they'd really use the gamepad). Now, imagine they say "PS4 is superior in technical terms, but Wii U version has more features thanks to the Gamepad" and then it's considered the superior version among consoles. If, in this hypotethical situation, it failed after having a lot of effort and extra features poured into it, well, third-parties don't sell well confirmed. If it succeeded, on the other hand, it would be proof that TP CAN sell well if Wii U version is comparable to the other versions.

LC: Undercover and Zombi U are both succesful games. If Ubisoft didn't just cut the price so quickly Zombi U would've been more profitable overall. Rayman: Legends was destined to great success, since it's an excellent platformer and it was planned to be released on the first months of Wii U, where no big game would overshadow it, but what happened then? Delay, lost exclusivity and release overshadowed by a lot of other big releases like GTA V and such. RL could've been succesful on Wii U, but poor choices ruined the opportunity.

Come to think of it, Wii U's lack of TP support is more of an unfortunate chain of events.

Project cars will be interesting to see, I think there was a poll on the oficial site where over 50% of the votes said they'd buy the game on wii u. but reagrdless of the outcome the bolded isn't true and never will be. at maximun it meand that some third parties sell better than others, which is valid for all consoles.
