Forums - Nintendo - Will Watchdogs be the last chance for third parties on the Wii U?

Scisca said:

There's no more "last chance" and it's all Nintendo's fault. This game will flop on Wii U. Why would anyone want to wait and pick up this version, when he can get the extended and vastly superior PS4 version?
The only games that should come Wii U's way should be exclusives that make smart use of the GamePad. Other games are just a waste of time and money. Even ports barely cover what they cost. Nintendo should work with 3rd partiest to convince them to form small teams that would work on innovative exclusives, kinda like what Media Molecule did with Tearaway on Vita.

Watcdogs is a game where the main person, uses a touch screen to all his "hacks"

I mean there could be some pretty big use of upad there.. ?

And most of people (+70% of videogame market) thinks ps3 and 360 (and even better i know) size and grafik, does the job..

(and dlc will come to Xone.. and nobody knows if it also will come.. or is included in the wii-u version..

BUT the main point... Watchdog is so made for upad controll

think a little more before saying stuff like this.

Oh Zero, how have I missed your absurd posts :) So nice to see you again! Got any new Nintendo-related predictions you wanna share? :D Like, will Wii U outsell PS4 this year?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I know that, but to tell the truth - here we are, 1.5 year after the console has hit the market and we haven't seen a single game using the GamePad in an outstanding way. So now I have to see it to believe it. And let's face it, there is no hype for the Wii U version, it will be late, it will look worse, it will have less content (not only DLCs, don't forget that Sony secured a deal with Ubi for exclusive missions and accessories) and it is on a console that people just don't care about any more (sub 30k sales per week...). On the other hand PS4 is on fire, MS is starting to fight desperately already making a pricecut and bundling their biggest exclusive of the year. What is Nintendo doing in the meantime? And don't forget, people who think PS360 graphics do the job won't pay $300 to get more of the same - they already have their PS360! If they are to shell out so much money, the can add extra $100 to get the hottest item on the market.

To make it clear - I hope Ubi comes up with some awesome ways to use the GamePad, but I also hope that they put them on the PS4/PSVita combo to give the ultimate experience. Watchdogs is made for such a controller, but Nintendo blew it by releasing such an underpowered console with no hot software.

Its already confirmed that it will be used in DS4. No news of wii u pad though. But it might be used in wii u.

People still think the wii u has a chance of 3rd party support?

Zombi U was probably the game that determined the fate of 3rd Party support. If that sold a lot more, Wii U probably would've gotten Crysis 3 and GTA V.

I assume from your comments that you have a Wii U? The Wii U gamepad is fun for some games but I wil certainly be getting the PS4 version of Watch Dogs

You forgot Project CARS.

A game build for high end PC, which console you think will get the best version will sale the most and has the most sim racer friendly fanbase.

Pcars is not a game any ninty fan should put any high hopes on.

Quite frankly...I don't give a sh*t anymore.

You buy a Nintendo console for Nintendo and a few 2nd party games.
You buy a PS4/One for 2nd and 3rd party games.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

If it does really well it will prove there is a place for third parties on the Wii U and they should even continue to try.

But if it fails I think third parties are gone for good. Agree?

To me, a fail would be anything below a million in sales for it. Assuming critics love it.

Hopefully, 3rd party will not be judged based on WD success, because in my opinion Ubisoft has set the game to fail on WiiU by postponing it for about half a year. By that time, all the hype will fade, advertising will dry up, and I expect the game to be quietly tossed onto shelves in order to fade away and die.

There is zero chance for it to sell a million, because there is no way Ubi will print a million copies.
