Forums - Gaming - While Sony Celebrates 'Infamous' Sales, Microsoft/EA Still Quiet About 'Titanfall'

I dont think you will be able to say one way or other until any announcements. The key will of course be the legs of both games and it is still too early to say at this stage. While I dont know how well the sales are for TF (pretty good it looks like but not super great), I would say MS is more concerned about the lift of X1 due to TF. The sales of X1 have come back down below ps4 once Infamous released which they wont be happy about. We will still have to wait and see how this turns out.

Are people actually suggesting that if the game was selling COD numbers, or even GeOW numbers, EA OR MS (to act like MS doesn't have any idea/estimate what the numbers of their LARGEST game for the year is just naive) wouldn't be announcing numbers? Hogwash. It's obvious the game hasn't had the impact that EA and MS were hoping for.

If you look at the best sellers on Gamestop, the PS4 currently holds 5 spots in the Top 10, while the Xbox One (Titanfall Bundle) comes in at #47. Fortunately for EA, Titanfall itself holds #2. Looking at Amazon US, the Titanfall Bundle is at #21 in the Bestsellers for the hour, while the game itself is only at #72. Looking at the more important lists, Bestsellers for the month, the Titanfall Bundle is #11 for March and has dropped to #17 for April. The game itself is #6 for March, but has already dropped to #42 for April.

Of course, you don't have to look at those charts to know this, only MS's actions. They have continually dropped the price on the One in various regions, while STILL giving a game away for free (either Titanfall, FIFA, or Forza), suggesting Titanfall didn't move as many Ones as they were hoping. I wouldn't be too surprised if Sony still won NPD, even if only by a little.

I've also noticed an increase in Titanfall ads on TV recently, much more than when it launched, so perhaps that could also be a sign that it isn't selling as well as hoped.

Infamous Second Son = 920,000
Titanfall X1 = 1.25 million sales

Maybe MS don't care about bragging about Sales. Lets be honest 1 million+ isn't enough to brag about for a FPS especially when compared to Halo figures, however Infamous SS is the best selling game for there franchise which is probably a lot for Sony.

Titanfall is a new IP in a genre full of similar games. Its alittle harder to win people when its fresh.

To be fair, keep in mind that the sales online might be a little skewed in favor of the PS4. Xbox Ones aren't that hard to find at your local Gamestop or Best Buy. Titanfall bundles are just regular XBOs with download codes thrown in and Titanfall sleeves placed on top of the usual green casing. PS4s are still in limited supply, so many PS4 buyers have to order online.

I don't see how Amazon charts (at least in the US) mean anything. They were (and are) selling the Titanfall bundle at the full $500 price while Walmart, Bestbuy etc... had it for $450

Who would buy it on Amazon? Heck, even Target has the bundle now with 1 year gold for free.

Maybe for early-mid March they should be skewed, but not for April.  Sony has been slowly getting enough stock into retailers, especially starting in late March.  I know 2 of the Walmarts around me still had 2 and 3 units in the case.  Haven't been into many other retailers, but I would imagine the situation is similar.  Granted, those may not last a week there, but it's definitely better than in February, where there was really no other option but to get it online.  Unless you were lucky enough to grab one while they were in stores for the few minutes before they sold out.

Sony has a right to brag, its the fastest and moxt likely will be the highest in the series.

Despite Titanfall's great/higher sales, its not wat M$ wanted. They obviously wanted alotmore, all you have to do is look at the bundles/price cuts.
its X1 not Titanfall doing bad :-/

It could be doing worse, at least it's not on Wii U level bad.  :-/

Why bring WiiU into the frey? Anyway, X1 isnt terrible, just underperforming in Microsoft's eyes! Thats all i meant. I be happy if wiiu can do 80k-100k a week :)

Its not Microsofts place to brag about the sales of a game they didn't make, but are passing off as their own. Thats a lot of games, especially when they aren't even the publisher. Sony actually makes their games so they have the right to brag. MS funded killer instinct so they actually said they were happy with the games sales but did not disclose the sales. This is a Sony vs EA argument, and Microsoft has nothing to do with it. Secondly, I don't know why you're comparing an action game with a shooter.
