Most comments I make assume the reader has previous knowledge on the topic. If they dont or have forgotten, im not here to educate them, only to give my opinion. Sure call people out if they are making an outrageous claim, but is it really that hard to accept PS3 had a "few" games which were better? Its not about having jack shit to show for it, its about not feeding trolls. |
So you are indirectly calling me a troll, nice.
Perhaps you should learn how educated and grown-up people discuss and argue with each other. I didn't refuse to take the fact that some PS3 games looked better and this is not what you told us.
Evading with "do your own research, it's on the internet" *is* avoiding a discussion and if this is the new standard for these forums I'd be very sad.
But who am I to discuss with a "dominator" - just keep your style and people will learn who is worth discussing with and who is not.

Grown up people dont argue, they debate. And they only engage in debated after they have established facts.
A debate does not work by one person making a claim and the other asking for sources. Thats called educating which I am not here to do.
You have come here to do nothing except waste time.... so yes, you are trolling.

Here comes your one warning; guys!
Things are getting a little too heated in here. Cool it down, or expect moderation yourself.
It is disappointing for some that resolution is lower, but I think we've come to expect his now haven't we? I mean if the PS4 is 1080p/60FPS we can probably guess that XBO will be lower (not in all cases but at the moment most).
I know people have said, what about Wolfenstien, thats 1080p, 60FPS..Trials must be because of lazy devs... I think we should reserve judgement to see what Wolfenstien looks like first on XBO, in videos there are a wide range of graphics, some look amazing, some look average... and this is on the PS4 version, we have no idea yet what the XBO looks like. It could be that current gen and next gen look decidedly similar.
As for the lazy devs comment... companies don't go out of their way to make one version less better than another. Devs are not lazy, in fact most devs have to work lots of overtime to get a game out on time. You know its a terrible accusation that is thrown at devs and has been since the PS3...
There are a couple of things that make a *big* difference to what a game comes out like:
1. How easy the dev tools are.
2. How good the machine is (powerful).
3. When the game is launching.
4. How mature your own engine/systems are
Once you have a clearer idea of all that, then you find that naturally you gravitate to one platform, and another might suffer (through no fault of your own). It takes time to improve any tools/code when using your own engine. If one is easier to develop for, those updates are quicker and easier. Companies have a limited launch window, and they cannot spend years just improving their own tools etc. If it's made easier then it will be better.
So rather than blaming devs, I would recommend blaming the company releasing the hardware and dev SDKs. As the easier it is, the better the game from the companies will be.
On another note:
1. Cloud won't do anything.
2. DX12 won't have this secret sauce magic effect some believe it will.
Trials are lead DirectX games, there s no issue with the X1 API. Actually the game is better build for the X1 than it is to PS4 api (GNM) or via the wraper wich convert DX code, but implies a lot of overhead. It's gonna be this way all the generation, maybe even worse with time when people roll up their sleeves and go down on the GNMX-ASM stuff on PS4.
You can't expect to make the same game with less CU, less bandwidth and less ROPs, thoses are the 3 pillar components for rendering performance (render-move-rasterize), it's physically impossible, even on that kind of game (heavier than most people think)

I think that's not for debate.

Don´t know from where you got that information but it dosen´t make any sense/logic. Memory is a comodity and takes time to get from one tecnology to the other. Foundrys won´t stop producing DDR3 and shift entirely to DDR4 (or DDR6 to be more precise), and in fact, if there were less demand for DDR3 the price will continue to drop even if by 10 years from now the XOne is the only device to use it. The reciprocal is the same to GDDR5, if a lot of video cards starts to use GDDR5 the price will go up for years until the foundrys are fully capable. |
This is hilariously incorrect.
dram manufacturers have to retool for the volume standards. Whatever has mass volume decreases in price due to immense competition and economies of scale. When a standard falls away, prices increase quite a bit. Look at ddr2 now for example. Ddr3 will dramatically increase in price in 2015 and beyond. To expect otherwise is insanity, and it quite literally has never happened before.

X1 version should be $44.44 used and then charge 9 cents for the patch to upgrade it to 900p.
