It is disappointing for some that resolution is lower, but I think we've come to expect his now haven't we? I mean if the PS4 is 1080p/60FPS we can probably guess that XBO will be lower (not in all cases but at the moment most).

I know people have said, what about Wolfenstien, thats 1080p, 60FPS..Trials must be because of lazy devs... I think we should reserve judgement to see what Wolfenstien looks like first on XBO, in videos there are a wide range of graphics, some look amazing, some look average... and this is on the PS4 version, we have no idea yet what the XBO looks like. It could be that current gen and next gen look decidedly similar.

As for the lazy devs comment... companies don't go out of their way to make one version less better than another. Devs are not lazy, in fact most devs have to work lots of overtime to get a game out on time. You know its a terrible accusation that is thrown at devs and has been since the PS3...

There are a couple of things that make a *big* difference to what a game comes out like:

1. How easy the dev tools are.
2. How good the machine is (powerful).
3. When the game is launching.
4. How mature your own engine/systems are

Once you have a clearer idea of all that, then you find that naturally you gravitate to one platform, and another might suffer (through no fault of your own). It takes time to improve any tools/code when using your own engine. If one is easier to develop for, those updates are quicker and easier. Companies have a limited launch window, and they cannot spend years just improving their own tools etc. If it's made easier then it will be better.

So rather than blaming devs, I would recommend blaming the company releasing the hardware and dev SDKs. As the easier it is, the better the game from the companies will be.

On another note:

1. Cloud won't do anything.
2. DX12 won't have this secret sauce magic effect some believe it will.
