I find this kind suggestion a little insulting, or at least insensible and lacking of empathy. Gaming is expensive outside of US, a PS4 costs  660 U$ in my country, and the Xbox One does not even launch till september and will retail for around 750 U$, and the average salary is around 600 U$ a month.

Some people chose a Wii U not only because they like/love Nintendo games but also because of costs reasons, suggesting a person who made an effort to pay the 375 U$ entry price of the console, to "go buy another one" is tacky. Just put yourself on the shoes of others and you will see that getting the game even if it is a little late is a better option than not having the game at all.

Ok. Let's be realistic for 5 seconds. If money is truly that much of an issue for the average working person in your country, then they might be better off finding a different entertainment medium all together. No video game console is worth even half a month's pay, especially if one has other bills to pay. I know that sounds a bit harsh, but there are ore important things for someone to worry about. If you can afford it and still live comfortably, fine and dandy, but don't live beyond your boundaries. You might as well be throwing money away at that point.

 On a side note, even if it is more expensive, PS4 would be a much better investment because you would be getting much more definitive versions with a more complete experience. Watch Dogs is only the beginning. Multiplats, as time goes on, will become far superior on PS4, while WiiU will always be stuck getting a version that either matches last gen or maybe slightly better. Depends on the developer.

People are making an effort and saving money to enjoy their hobbies, they cannot purchase every game that comes out and maybe just a few titles on the full year, but they don't want to give up what they like just because is expensive, asking them to get a second and more expensive console is telling them to live beyond their boundaries and that is why I think it lacks empathy. If you can afford a car, a decent car, but you are telling them to go buy a second more expensive car to travel in certain roads that is incensitive, if you tell them that with their decent car they cannot reach 150 mph on the same road will not matter so much, at least they can still enjoy the ride.

Getting a "definitive version" does not matter too much if you can still experience the story and gameplay with decent graphics, remember the people who made the effort to buy their Wii U in my country usually don't have a 60" HDTV, most likely a 32" one. Getting the game even if it does not have all the bells and whistles is enough. On a personal note good gamepad integration could be a decent enough addition to that version.

They aren't surprised anymore.  Now they are just putting their effort towards the markets that will make them the most money.  Unfortunatily for Nintendo thee Wii U version will sell the least of the 5 platforms WD is being released on.

I hope it comes with some DLC included, to justify the full price, in comparison the other versions would be cheaper by that time, most likely 40 U$, but if they include the DLC on disk (the one released at that time) it will make the Wii U version a little more atractive and give it at least a fighting chance, I will buy it anyway and bring a few copies for my fellow country men, the official stores are very expensive and even if the third party release the games they don't reach our country (no Batman: Arkham Origins, no Call of Duty, no Assassin's Creed IV, no Splinter Cell, and no Deus Ex in my country last year).

The Wii U is toxic for anything. Some of what Ubisoft has done doesn't help their case any, however it's not just their fault.

$40 is okay, maybe a bit more if they include dlc and/or lot's of extras.
