Forums - Nintendo - Why does Mario Kart 8 look so much better than SSB for Wii U? Disappointed.

But I thought we Nintendo fans didn't care about graphics!

Whe do but not as much...good graphics with awesome gameplay and lenght is way more important

I don't know why people are already starting to complain and makning up their minds, it's way to early about a game that isn't even close being released.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

Nintendo games get their graphical polish in the last months. That's why they usually look better from trailer to trailer, especially shader effects and lighting.

True.

Metroid Prime 3 looked no different from Prime 2 in early screens, but the final release looked notably better.

More recently, 3D World underwent a noticeable visual upgrade between E3 last year and later trailers/the finished product.

If this game turns out to be crap and the Wii U doesn't skyrocket after it then I'm blaming everything on Namco.

I think SSB U is pretty complete in terms of gameplay from what we've seen in the direct. They've just decided to polish the 3DS version first.

In the months between now and "Winter 2014" we'll see a similar leap in graphical quality for SSB U as we did for MK8 in the last few months.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 (Project P-100) were greatly improved from the E3 2012 footage.

Tropical Freeze had some minor improvements.

The only Wii U game that looks significantly worse compared to trailers is ZombiU (third-party).

It's not visually stunning like Mario Kart 8, but it's still good looking. The water greninja manifests looks awesome.

Ones a damn 2d fighter, what more do you want?

Ones a kart racer. I want what Mario Kart 8 has. Killer Instinct looks amazing. Smash 4 could have looked that good. Even Super Mario 3D World looks better.

again you're comparing games that arent even in the same genre. As for Killer Instinct...nope im sure it cant look as good seeing as KI is running on HW more powerful than WIi U by a good margin

Genre has no baring on aesthetics and Mario Kart 8 looks as good as Killer Instinct so it's not the hardware, it's the art design.

fair enough, but thats all subjective anyway. I happen to think KI looks better than MK8
