Rather, it will reveal the game's "launch window." Which is bullshit and I'm predicting a delay until 2015, which is bullshit.

But let's hope I'm wrong about that last bit.

The official Super Smash Bros. Twitter feed posted two messages today. The second one says, “We’re not in the condition to announce a specific release date yet, but in the broadcast tomorrow we’ll inform you of an approximate release window.”

Considering how terrible Nintendo is at revealing release date, and how terrible at respecting them, It was expected.

I would'nt be surprise if that release window is as vague as ''second half of 2014'' despite all of us knowing that it will launch in October at the earliest, probably November.

This is frustrating news. The release date was most of what I was looking forward to.

Some folks seem eager to believe anything bad.

Unless Zelda is actually ready for this year, delaying Smash Bros to 2015 means they might as well just stop Wii U production in June altogether. They're NOT going to do that unless there's something big in the cards that we don't know about.

I don't really mind when it releases. I just know that it'll probably be what makes me buy a Wii U. Literally nothing else is persuading me at all.

I agree with Mr Khan; it needs to be out this year (preferably not post-October either). Will probably be a "Q3 2014" job though.

Over reaction central...they will be announcing a release window, not really sure why anyone would care exactly when the game is coming out at this point. The release window will provide just as much information...

Game won't be delayed to 2015, as the new Facebook-Page und Twitter-Acc say both: "Which comes out in 2014" today and the last few days.

By definition, no it won't.

'October 15th, 2014' is FAR more information than 'Q3 2014.' 

Nintendo are terrible at this, and almost half the time their 'release window' ends up getting delayed, particularly with Smash Bros.

They are the ones making the game. They ought to know when it will be done. They've been working on it for years. 

Can't be a 2015 delay. MK8 is a big game and that is perfect for 1st half of this year, but they'll need another for fall. That is SSB. Its the only other Nintendo IP that is big that we know is supposed to release this year.

I'd highly doubt they'd leave fall for the 2nd tier games like yoshi and bayonetta2.

Of course, unless they announce Zelda (surprise 2014 launch) or some spectacular looking exclusive FPS (something not really up Nintendo's ally).
