What? Windows 8 apps can run on XBO yes, but devs will still have to develop the XBO app. Thousands of apps won't just be magically ported over.

It is as easy as changing the controls. It has exactly the same Kernel. This was already adressed last year by Microsoft. The app can be porte with next to no effort. Any app being made for WP8, Windows 8 and xbox One will simply require a few control tweaks etc. Microsoft showed us this last year. Its the reason Microsoft made Xbox One OS using exactly the same Windows 8 Kernel. Very smart Move.

I hope they announce opening up for apps at E3, it could possibly make XBL axplode with even more functionality. All the free games, utilities and gorgeus stuff :).

IMO, f2p and betas also shouldn't be behind the paywall. Maybe also games like The Elder Scrolls Online. $60+$subscription+XBL Gold can be a huge pain in the ass for some people for that game.

I thought that was the reveal. I remember it just being game after game after game during E3. But oh well, 90% sounds reasonable.

Yeah, Im pretty happy that Phil got to take control of the whole thing. Seems to be actually into videogames.

Its about the convenience. Its about Xbox One having one more feature. Feature sets, games, price. All of them come together when justifying a purchase. Weather apps, to some people, are one more reason why they should get an Xbox One.
