Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Directs or Nintendo E3?

I just want to hear people's opinions on what they like better out of the two and why?  Maybe both.  Im going to say that I like E3 much better as i find the Nintendo Directs awkward to watch and doesnt really reveal a ton.  However I think that NIntendo Directs are good for hyping up already annonuced games.  So im going to say i would like them to do both.  E3 for some big announcements and Nintendo Directs for hyping games.  THough i thinkk they need to improve on their awkward stuff.

Anyways, what about you?

I agree with everything you said! Big titles should be announced at e3. Nintendo directs reserved for lower tier announcements and hyping games.

Yep, E3 for big announcements. Nintendo directs for new gameplay trailers and release dates.

Agree with you, E3 should be the premier video game expo. Also it's epic compared to the sterile Direct environment.

Directs are good for smaller things like SSB character reveals, MK8 stages and so on.

Yep.

I like both, but they serve entirely different purposes. E3 is for the "big" news, like console announcements, new mainline Mario/Zelda etc.

ND are for smaller things, such as price cuts, localizations, games from smaller franchises, as you say hyping announced games etc.

It's nice to have the Directs, but I would rather watch E3 then a Direct, but both are enjoyable.

I agree but it appeared that Nintendo wanted to replace E3 with ND last year.  Has Nintendo confirmed theyll be at e3 this year btw?  Im hoping they are

No announcement yet, no, but I personally expect it'll be similar to last year.

I want Nintendo to be at E3 simply because I want to see people's reactions to Zelda U! Just imagine how many messed pants there would be..

Ha, that'd be pretty cool. Seeing Miyamoto coming onto the stage as well as he did with the previous titles to demo it would be sweet as well!

That's what is lost in Directs. The atmosphere.

I agree with your summary, but I should add that it's much better at E3 because you get the crowds reaction as well, which I feel is a rather important part press conferences.
