I'd prefer a Direct over a Conference as it's shorter and to the point, but as long as they do them hands-on events again, I wont care either way!

Agreed! Imagine the new HD Wii U Zelda getting shown through a Direct...
I hope they do a Direct this month, one in May, and why not a few days before E3 to show the stuff they can't fit at E3. But I want them to return on stage. They need to show us that they can compete with Sony and MS.

I think last year in April they announced they wouldn't be having a traditional E3 conference, so hopefully the confirm they WILL be there this month.

Seems like most people are in agreement, E3 is great for major announcements, stirring up hype, getting a crowd reaction, and getting more media attention, while Directs are good for smaller updates, focusing on specific games, and announcements for the rest of the year (e.g. Hyrule Warriors, NES Remix).

I like Directs better.

So far, Nintendo Directs have been a cohesive way for hyping up the games and for small announcements. The big guns should be unveiled at E3, given the large exposure and high coverage of the press.

It's nice too see that there are other people thinking about it like me. So let's hope for big announcement live on stage in June this year and for hype today/tomorrow in the Nintendo Direct for Smash ^^
