Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Directs or Nintendo E3?

i would like for Nintendo to have a big Press Conference as they usually had where they announce what they have to announce with superficial teaser trailers and then invite people to afterwards watch in-depth directs with gameplay demonstrations.

Nintendo E3 or they will kill themselves again this year...

How do ya mean? They were killing themselves long before last year's E3.

There's no better way to build hype and excitement than getting a crowd involved. I think doing an ND instead of a live presentation did more hurt to their appeal than most people even realize. Right when they needed to stand out and shout to the world that everyone needs to buy their system, they quietly took another step back in a long series of steps back and only spoke to their own fans.

ND's are great for the rest of the year, but E3 needs to be about the live presentation. I doubt they'll go back to normal this year though. They seem to have no vigor left.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

I don't see much of a difference in content distribution.

The point is the same. To dramatically show off new products and features.

E3 live presentation has more risk and things go wrong.

ND can be prerecorded to be awesome allowing those in attendance to focus on on-hands play and real direct feedback sooner.

I prefer the way it was handled last E3 with a ND and the stage was instead filled with on-hands demos and thus immediate feedback.

Unless you was a Nintendo owner the Nintendo Direct didn't add nothing... press and gamers didn't know nothing about Nintendo last year. so Nintendo Direct is pretty much useless to sell the console for new owners.

Wii U situation is pretty much a reflect of what Nintendo Direct is.

Nintendo needs to sell their console outside the Nintendo fan base... E3 have this poupose.

What are you talking about?

The ND was broadcast in the exact same manner as an E3 presentation. However, you get a more refined and better quality presentation.

Wii U's issues have nothing to do with E3.

I think an E3 presentation does more for public perception. A lot of people thought Nintendo was avoiding E3 all together last year, even the press was confused about Nintendo's strategy.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It is not.

Only Nintendo fan base watch the Direct... everybody watch the E3... E3 gets pages in all big newspaper in the world... Nintendo Direct? I never watched one of them... and I always watched every single Nintendo E3.

The dize of the audience is a hell of different... no new possible buyer watch Directs.

E3 last year is one of the issue of the Wii U and it contribuited with the lower sales of the console (it is not the main reason but it is one of them)... they need to fix that.
