Forums - Nintendo - Sonic Boom - I'm looking forward to it, are you?

The more i learn about this game, more worried i get about the final stage product. So far, things like shoting, and puzlles involving push/pulling don get me really exicited. One thing for sure, this game will not be about sonic running. Other point is the decision of making the the local coop, while all the running get me worried about how the camera will work, plus some parts will need a partner(tough they don't said if controlled by IA, or you could take over). The model of the characters look really unpolished too. Dunno how much(or if will change) till the release date(constrited by the show release already).

So far, it look like any tie-in game for me. Remember: Double helix made a good KI game and a good strider game... after years making mediocre tie-in games.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I imagine this to resemble Delfino Plaza: An overworld that Sonic, and his friends, can explore with the help of running - jumping - pushing - breaking.
Then they find entrances to the actual levels and these can be 2D - 2,5D for Sonic to dash trough.

Cautiously optimistic. Although I did get burnt on Sonic Lost World (I know some people loved it but the level design was poor, it was too easy to die and not easy enough to get more lives, and the controls just didn't work.)

Not trying to rush to the games defence, though I did love the game. But did you play it with the most recent updates? They actually fixed issues like the lack of lives :)

Though the controls will never be fixed if you didn't like them I guess.

Traded in before the update came, also missed out on Yoshi and Zelda DLC.

The controls were the main issue for me, coupled with the way the level design would frequently put jump or die sections in places where you can't see them coming. The lack of lives made the design and control issues worse, as you'd end up booted back to the world map with a game over too frequently.

I did give it a good chance to grow on me though; played through to the Jungle World.

OT: I think Sega would be wise to put out a demo of this game; I won't be buying it without playing it like I did Lost World

Ehh it's looks nice, definitely a change of pace from those horrible 3D games, this looks enjoyable :P

No. I'm not going to be fooled into getting excited by an interesting looking Sonic game anymore. I'll wait and see.

I'm still planning on buying it day-one. Always good to support these kinds of efforts!
