Not sure if the hoster edited the quotes or context. But what I believe is that he is saying that regarding indies won't see a gap (he even mention their game being a lot lighter than Bf4) but regarding big budget AAA I beg to disagree.

Funny that now that Dx12 is announced and new sdk was released he says that a lot of devs complained about X1 lack of power but at the time this kind of comment were always anonymous, while public speech was that both consoles were almost equal.

Seems like this is just the same, publicaly devs will say consoles are about equal but in 6 months they will say there was a difference but now it will be solved ad infinitum.

So do you think the gap will dissapear or it was a comment related to his entrance to ID@Xbox?

The guys either brown nosing someone at MS hard or an idiot.

The gap CANNOT disappear. This is a simple fact which anyone with the mildest understanding of electronics will grasp. The xbone has a very weak gpu thus will always under perform no matter how much tweaking they do. You can optimise it as much as you want, but at the end of the day, if the power is not there then nothing can be done about it.

I think the X1 will eventually be able to run ALL games based on last gen tech in 1080p/60fps.

The PS5 Exists.

Shouldn't it be like that from the beggging.

It seems like some devs don't the HW.

If what we've seen of Quantum Break is representative of actual gameplay and there are no downgrades before launch, then graphically XBox is definitely not inferior to PS4. MS are hyping up what they are going to show at E3. I think people should reserve judgement until then, if graphics matter that much.

Fun is more important to me, which is why I couldn't be happier with Titanfall.

This all depends on the game and its game developers, if they want to make both consoles have the same features, then they would. But this doesnt change the fact/truth that the ps4s specs is higher than that of x1s and as long as devs use the full features of the ps4 and the x1, there will always be a difference. Be it graphically or by frame rate.

Keep lying to yourself, because that will change reality...oh wait =p

The xbone has just over a teraflop of power from a rather naff gpu. The ps4 is almost at 2 teraflops with some extras to push that even further eg. gargantic bandwidth and aux procs. This will make a large difference eg. 720 or 1080p gaming.

just face it guys ps4 is more powerful now if the gap may increase or decrease is up to the third party development teams, if you are making a game for both the ps4 and xbox one why would you spend more resources on only one of them :P

I know the PS4 is more powerful and everything but some people seem genuinely angry at the suggestion that the Xbox One could be closer in power at some point. I mean, enjoy the PS4 if that's your thing. Let the Xbox fans be optimistic. It's not hurting anybody.

Because the suggestion is , to be frank, stupid. The hardware is set. There is nothing will change that. The similarity of the hardware makes things worse for the XB1. In past generations each console had a unique architecture with it's own strengths and weakeness. This gave developers multiple ways to achieve the same end result. In this generation that isn't case. The XB1 powered by an inferior version of the PS4's APU and is saddled with slower memory. Nothing will change that. People just need to accept this and move on already. It's software that ultimately matters anyway.

Finally a clever post after tons of nonsense.

I can't believe that some 'dreamers' still open threads like this...  it's time to think about games, and fresh/original new IPs.

”Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”

Harriet Tubman.

People still believing in MS E3 presentation? Say one game not dowgraded after... I bet people tough TF was gorgeous on E3 running on GTX Titan, now not so much.

Presentation about directx 12 enhancing X1 uses titan as well, deceiving much?
