Forums - Gaming Discussion - Making KH 1.5 and 2.5 HD as exclusives makes no sense

GTA and Gears Shooter and Uncharted not shooter? Just wow.

Plus, the console with most exclusive Indies and Arcade is X360.

Perception that you think people have, is the perception of people that probably don't have a Xbox.

The only FPS and TPS that I have right now are Crackdown and Halo. I mostly play Fifa, fighting games, Arcade games (Max and dozens of exclusive to Xbox like Iron Brigade), Simulators( Ace Combat 6, Forza), Max Payne, Mass Effect, etc...

I counted Uncharted as a shooter. I said "I counted Uncharted, TLOU, Resistance, KZ, MAG and Warhawk as shooters". And based on the games you have....most of them are multiplatform (minus the ones I was using in the argument of which one is the "shooterbox"). If most of the games you play are FIFA, Max Payne, fighting games, etc....the PS3 and 360 are interchangeable for you, purely from a games standpoint, since both have those same games in particular. But looking at what can only be offered to 360 owners vs what can only be offered to PS3 owners, the 360 has a large chunk of it's top exclusive games/series' being shooters.

Most of the games that I play are not multiplat. Lately( last 2 years) I mostly played Arcade/Indie games as Xbox was mostly focused on.

Battleblock Theater, State of Decay, Castlestormer, Trials, Iron Brigade, Shadow Complex etc...

The game was probably gonna be a PS4 exclusive but then when they found out how easy it was to port it to X1 they figured what the hell might aswell.  I don't think they are gonna be putting a lot of effort in building a KH audience on Xbox.

Is that evidence enough??

So, what I'm getting by this is that:

a) JRPGs sell better on Ps3.

b) JRPGs sell great on 360.

I never argued against a) :P

I would not say that is selling great as the top 10 360 vs the top 10 PS3 puts PS3 at already double 360. So with just top 10 in mind 360 has under 33% marketshare, and I think it would get worse if we included every other jrpg.

Instead I would say JRPGs sell ok on 360, but it would still be a risk for developers to put games on it. Examples: Persona, Tales, Atelier, Disgaea

OT: Probably because SE is so broke that they do not want take the risk with Wii U, and for 360 / Xone most sales would come from the west as the 360 is dead in japan and Xone has yet to release.

Milk move. SE knows the JRPG fanbase is solid on the Playstation platforms and releasing the HD collections on one platform will cost less for them.

So its all about the mula!

Seriously, when a game like Catherine manages to be successful on 360, do you think Persona won't?

I agree with Atelier and Disgaea, though. That could be very risky, considering we don't know their forecast on Ps3 and they don't move big numbers.

Vesperia did great on 360 as well. It just did...okay, in Japan, which is exactly what Namco doesn't want. That's why no other Tales has appeared on 360.

And as I said, as console-exclusive JRPG goes, Lost Odyssey is the sixth on the list top-seller. So anything else goes below that. Atelier sells less than Lost Odyssey per entry. I say, again, that JRPGs do great on 360, for what it is. They don't move the numbers they do on Ps3, but that's a point I never argued against.

Not trying to get into this argument, but Catherine wasn't a JRPG.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I just would not say the sales are great, just ok. Persona 4 arena was released for 360 and only sold 21% of the PS3 version. I think similar numbers or worse would happen for persona 5 or simultaneous release of a tales game. The JRPG marketshare for PS3 is just to big. Especially now when the 360 is dieing in japan, I do not think persona 5 would do that well.

So I would say the sales are just ok, some profitable and some were risky.

It wasn't. It is an extremely niche puzzle-social sim game. And it did good on 360. Don't you think Atlus flagship JRPG wouldn't do at least as good? :P

Persona 4 Arena only sold 21% and 360 is still getting Persona 4 Arena Ultimax or whatever is called.

So numbers must be good, I think.

Good enough yes. I think you are missing my point though. The reason the 360 is not getting games like Persona 5, Tales, Atelier, and Disgaea is not because JRPGS sell great on the 360 :P.

Anyways enough derailing for me.
