There is absolutely no reason, for what you get, this console should be cheaper than the PS4.  If all you care about is having 900p instead of 720p, or 1080p instead of 900p, then get a PS4.  But your not caring about some of the One's cool games and features doesn't suddenly mean they don't exist.

Actually it does. Just like you not caring about the features and games on PS4.

First of all, I do care about the features and games on PS4, being halfway through Infamous and loving it.

Though even if I did not care about the features and games on PS4, it wouldn't mean they are not there.  The PS4 can manage slightly higher resolutions and/or slightly more particle effects than the Xbox One.  The Xbox One can perform a variety of media functions, voice and sight navigation and interactions as a form of gaming input and social functions beyond what the PS4 can manage.

These are facts.  You might not care about them, and if you don't then you wont be purchasing an Xbox One.  But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be included in a pricing scheme.

You know PS4 has voice navigation? Doesn't require a camera. Where was Twitch streaming on the Xbox One when it launched? Not there, missing feature. The only media function it can perform that the PS4 can't, is watch TV. What is sight navigation btw? You can navigate with your eyes?

I am aware that you can use the mono headset to navigate menu's, but not for gaming integration, and not for voice recognition.  I have not actually tried the voice navigating on the PS4 yet, so will not speculate on its effectiveness.

I am sure you know what I meant, but just in case I will clarify that you can use your hands to navigate menus.  Furthermore, Kinect recognises both the face and voice of the person controling the console, and logs you in automatically (including multiple people at once) if it sees you enter the room.

I don't know what relevance launch has to current value?  Given my Xbox One has Twitch I would say none.  But if you want to be pedantic, the PS4 did not launch with voice navigation, you needed to download a patch...

What you've missed, is that the original poster presented his perceptions of value as fact, where they merely represented his opinion.

So you're correct, if you don't care about Kinect and the games then not even $400 is worth it.  But his not caring about them, does not mean they are not there for other gamers to consider

As I see it everyone here just talks about their opinion unless stated otherwise. You were the one calling him out as if he meant it was fact.

My interpretation was that that is exactly how he was stating it.

If that is incorrect then I apologise.

I'm an early adopter and it doesn't really bother me. I know that a price drop means higher marketshare and higher marketshare means less exclusives on the competition and more exclusives on the Xbox One later this generation. More games to play later this generation means far more to me than the $110 I lost by buying early. 

Of course you don't you don't have a choice.

It doesn't matter if you are personally bothered by it or not.

I'll be damned if I'll be one of those Xb1 "early adopters" and I'm gonna wait till demand and supply get to the sweet spot and the price stops freefalling.

Target will refund anything that gets a lower price if you have a reciept within the last two weeks of a higher price

Well you needed a patch to remove the DRM features of the Xbox One, so not sure what you're getting at there =)

You didn't answer one of my questions, what media function does the Xbox have that PS4 doesn't other than watching TV?
