Sorry MS still not buying it, that thing should cost at least 100 less than the PS4, the hardware design and games that it current has it absolutely does not compensate the 450 price tag.

I just don't get this thinking.  Sure, if it isn't your cup of tea you won't buy it.

But there is no pretending it doesn't have more features than the PS4, better retail games right now, and a very pleasant aesthetic.

There is absolutely no reason, for what you get, this console should be cheaper than the PS4.  If all you care about is having 900p instead of 720p, or 1080p instead of 900p, then get a PS4.  But your not caring about some of the One's cool games and features doesn't suddenly mean they don't exist.

Actually it does. Just like you not caring about the features and games on PS4.

First of all, I do care about the features and games on PS4, being halfway through Infamous and loving it.

Though even if I did not care about the features and games on PS4, it wouldn't mean they are not there.  The PS4 can manage slightly higher resolutions and/or slightly more particle effects than the Xbox One.  The Xbox One can perform a variety of media functions, voice and sight navigation and interactions as a form of gaming input and social functions beyond what the PS4 can manage.

These are facts.  You might not care about them, and if you don't then you wont be purchasing an Xbox One.  But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be included in a pricing scheme.

smart of them to do after Titan Fall rather than before, as i doubt that small of a price cut before would have boosted that much more sales...

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

After the recent discounts at Walmart, Amazon, etc. I kind of expected they are either permanently dropping to $450, or clearing the channel for a new cheaper SKU.

This is amazing - effectively a ~$100 discount in 4 months on the market.  If I didn't already have Titanfall on the PC I might have been tempted to bite.

Those are facts but they don't mean anything if you don't care for them.

If you care for Kinect and MS exclusive games $500 is more than worth it. If you don't care about Kinect and the games then not even $400 is worth it.

You're trying to put objective worth on things which is never a good thing to do. Worth was and will always be subjective. So it's absolutely valid for an individual to ignore certain features that they don't have an interest for. Like you're ignoring the objective worth of Knack right now! Which is bigger than all objective worths of the X1 combined.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Completely ignores Kinect....

Most people do, that's entirely the point.

Well if this becomes an official price cut it confirms to us that MS weren't satisfied with the X1's sales. Still, it's not a huge drop and MS can take the hit with little problem. The hopefully gain in market share will likely offset any loss in the long run anyway.

what now?

They want to continue with high sales...... You seem to always have an attitude in your posts, especially with Xbox One.

Omg, so its actually official? Is this the quickest price cut in the history of console gaming I wonder since the wiiU had a price cut around October? (The super failed consoles don't count)

Fastest was the original Xbox, a $100 price drop in May, just 6 months after release. This would be faster but a smaller price drop. That's assuming this is permanent, which it might not be.

You say the original Xbox had the fastest price drop, and then say this price drop is the fastest in the same comment? If OG Xbox had a price drop 6 months after release, the Xbox One's drop was 4 months after release.

Who really cares either way? A price drop is good for consumers no matter why it happens.

It is too early to count any console out, especially the X1 and PS4. The 360 and Ps3 sold around 70 million plus?
We are still in the 4-6 million range this gen. There is a lot of time left.

Anyway, who really cares? Unless you have stock it really shouldn't be an issue. Fact of life - exclusives exist and always will, if you really want to play all the exclusives you must buy all the sytems! No one says you have to buy them at launch, but trust me in the long run $400 and even $500 doesn't really mean anything in a 5-7 year span.

I guess unless you are one of those who bought it 4 months ago. It's cheaper and with a free game to boot.

You know PS4 has voice navigation? Doesn't require a camera. Where was Twitch streaming on the Xbox One when it launched? Not there, missing feature. The only media function it can perform that the PS4 can't, is watch TV. What is sight navigation btw? You can navigate with your eyes?
