I voted other. Of all the controllers I have spent a lot of time with, here is how I rank them.

1) Wiimote and Nunchuck
2) Gamecube - Most comfortable I have ever held
3) SNES - Most modern controllers pull their design from this one, a classic
4) Xbox 360
5) N64 - I want to put it higher because of the analog stick, but the D-pad position was worthless
6) Xbox (the small one)
7) Dualshock 2
8) Dualshock 1
9) Playstation controller
10) NES - A classic, but there have been so many improvements, and the corners hurt after a long gaming session
11) Keyboard and Mouse - Still the best for the RTS genre
12) Xbox (the big one) - basically worthless for me
13) Atari

Switch Code: SW-7377-9189-3397 -- Nintendo Network ID: theRepublic -- Steam ID: theRepublic

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

Although it's a huge step up fro. The ds3 it still doesn't compare to the 360 or x1 Controller. The main reason for that tho is because the center of the analog sticks are rounded up. It makes no sense.

So you're telling me you don't have any issue with them sticking bumpers right next to the triggers? They are literally riding one another. The 360 controller didn't do that. Now people cannot choose whether they want four fingers for the top but are rather forced to adapt two fingers for all four top bottoms.

I was refering to the 360 controller when I said Xbox.

Ok I've wanted to ask fellow ps4 owners this, and this is the perfect thread to do so. I have my wiiu and ps4 next to each other in my living room. I have a long hdmi cable that goes into my bedroom for gaming in the sack on my 55" bedroom LCD....

My wiiu game pad has no problem playing in my room, while the console is in the living room... However, my dual shock 4 has trouble from the same distance, with the console in the living room as well... Has any one else had this problem?

I expected the ps4 controller to be able to maintain a solid connection from further away than the wiiu pad, but it doesn't... My x360 controller never had this issue.. It's pissing me off, and is very disappointing..

There is only about 15 ft. From where they both are to the bedroom. Is my dual shock 4 the problem? I'd hate to buy another just to blow $60 on a new one that does the same thing. I appreciate any honest input from fellow owners... Thanks guys.

edit: x360 controller is my all time fav. But, since the dual shock 4 is physically larger than the ds3, it's a very good controller too. But, the 360 controller is better, as I like the left stick position better, but, the ds4 is now a very close second, and I have no real complaints about it. You get used to the stick position, but just prefer the stick to be in the place of the useless cross pad.

Think alot has to do with wall thickness and other electronics. Just to check against what you said, I can use my ps4 controller about 20ft away in my bedroom closest while my wiiu gamepad will start losing connection in my kitchen, maybe 12-15ft away and doesn't work at all from my bedroom. Luckily I don't have any need to play either in my bedroom.

Also the wiiu's wifi really annoys me, it drops connection randomly and I have to exit the browser, go to settings then exit settings to reset it. I've heard it's proximity to other systems but I have no wear else to put it on my tv stand :|

OT: I pick the DS4. I've never had issues with PS controllers. I like the xbox360 controller too minus the dpad so I imagine I'll enjoy the xb1 controller whenever I get one.

Yeah, but in my case its like for like. Wiiu and ps4 are two inches away from eachother in my living room, and i pkay them in my bedroom from the exact same distance. My wiiu pad never loses connection from there, but my ds4 is very spotty...same walls, same exact scenario, im just surprised. And dissapointed. Never had any other controller struggle like this... and i agree about the 360 d pad.. one of the worst ever.

None of my systems have ever had an issue with wifi. A top of the line router will take care of that for you.

Not qualified to comment outside of PS controllers, so I'll agree that it's the best PS controller ever. But then the DS3 was the best PS controller of all time before PS3, and then the DS2 was the best before PS3. So it's not saying much other than that Sony didn't screw up with the controller design.

All of my consoles are on the same tv stand just a few inches apart. It's defintely a strange issue you're having. Well I guess both of us since its the same for me, just reverse.

Maybe a better router could help, though nothing else has an issue in my livingroom. All the other consoles, smart tv and tablet/phone work just fine, never drop connection.

The DS4 essentially brought over what was perfect with the 360 (the triggers) over to the playstation and changed the form to be more comfortable. The 360 wasn't perfect though, it lacked a proper D-Pad, which the DS4 has and it is still better than the Xbox Ones. The DS3 was far from perfect and it didn't seem like Sony learned their lesson, but the DS4 is essentially the 360 and PS3 controller in one. It didn't add the weak points either. The top buttons on the PS4 are well placed as they always have been, they just have proper triggers now (about damn time) and actually feel remarkably better than the 360 when you touch them, but then again with newer generations usually we tend to see a lot of learning from previous generations. Sony learned their lesson in a big way. That controller is perfect for every genre omitting motion controls. I am glad the six axis is still in it.
