As a Sony fan I hope Nintendo stays an essential part of gaming forever. They're crucial to the market's well being and to its development.

With the Wii they also went against the rules and were very successful, so it might be a hit and miss strategy (console wise), but even when they miss they still make excellent games, sometimes groundbreaking ones.

So to answer your question: hopefully never.

Something huge and against all odds would have to happen if Nintendo ever surrendered. It's almost comparable to Japan in World War 2. They will certainly give it a go. In short, I hope they continue making great consoles and games. Gaming would be abit dull if it was just Playstation and Xbox even with all the indies.

Enough with this stupid threads that ask Nintendo to quit gaming its been done over and over as you can see in your research.. yet they are still here.

Never. But I do expect them to try to adapt to the always changing gaming community. Don't fix what isn't broken is the motto they follow hypothetically speaking.
