People talk about how the 3DS is doing horribly, but only relative to the DS, not relative to the PS4.

People also forget that Sony's Vita is doing as terrible as the Wii U and with less of a potential future, and their Playstation phone was a complete flop.

The Xbox One doesn't look like it will be passing Wii U for a very long time?

Why would Nintendo "surrender" to companies that are not really any better off?

Cause Nintendo is the devil!

Get with the times!

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

"Surrender" what, their spot in the video game industry? As long as they can make money, they have no reason to go. Wii U is a mess up....oh well, they'll deal with it and move on, they have to try again, not throw their hands up and say "welp, we've screwed up, let's go away forever". They'll damage their image considerably if they do that. Ok yeah, "their image is already messy hurrdurr", but relative to that they'll be worse off. There are companies doing worse financially than Nintendo and Nintendo are the ones that need to be up for surrendering? That's just nonsense.

Nintendo will be and always a system that sells during the holidays. They want the family and kids demographic always have always will. Even back to SNES days and not putting blood in their Mortal Kombat. Sorry the 18-24 demographic these days dont get it. I understood that reason why a PlayStation when I was 18. But I didn't bitch about Nintendo either I just played their games when someone had an N64 and gave props when it was due. Im sick of these kids thinking every one and everything should be perfect. News flash nothing is perfect and it will never be. Thats why Nintendo keeps surviving even with the harsh criticism the gaming media gives. Lets face it, most game journalism is all bias anyways and pretty sure most in the gaming media dont have a journalism degree

Don't see how 3ds is having problems its not selling ds level but should edge out 80 million.

I feel they should focus on one platform at a time. They can make millions on software. I prefer if they focus was on handheld.

I agree that their strong point is handheld consoles, but if they stop producing home consoles it would be like surrendering. Focusing one at a time is a bad idea because they have the resources to sustain two consoles and if one fails at least the other one can pick up from where the other one left from. Focusing on only one would be like betting all your chips on just one possibility. Better to have a backup plan.

And thank god Nintendo has the 3DS performing "great", without it, Nintendo would be in real trouble

One day they will.... After we are all dead that is
